He was a product director for Karim Rashid. Personally I loved the glass bowls they had at the end. I'll melt candles that come in ugly jars now, and pour them into those glass bowls. (though I loved the ceramic bowls as well.)

I think they hired Karim at the beginning so they could make a really big splash with their product design, and it worked! But I don't (think) he's done anything for them, for a while.

Jamison, SLIGHTLY harsh. :) Ha ha! I never said it was an exact copy, but it's just SO obvious what their intentions were.Nathan Aaron https://www.blogger.com/profile/05436182125301809434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8217008236703739106.post-7085784335761308852010-12-17T13:52:01.656-05:002010-12-17T13:52:01.656-05:00While these don't hit the mark 100%, you can t...While these don't hit the mark 100%, you can tell that the companies intent was to copy Method. For that I think they should burn in hell... Well, that might be an exaggeration.Jamison cOMBShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18201996320048583442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8217008236703739106.post-19664893064974204832010-12-16T17:40:26.529-05:002010-12-16T17:40:26.529-05:00Do you know if Karim Rashid still designs for meth...Do you know if Karim Rashid still designs for method? I REALLY liked their candles in the white ceramic pots...so simple but chic. I never bought another candle after they discontinued that design.Karinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06839577226208588561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8217008236703739106.post-75249078044462793042010-12-15T18:06:02.548-05:002010-12-15T18:06:02.548-05:00I definitely realize it's a subpar attempt. Mo...I definitely realize it's a subpar attempt. More clunky, not as stylish, etc. But the hand wash bottle design for method was a) designed by big time guy Karim Rashid; and b) the shape of the bottle is pretty much synonymous with the method brand. When I see "tear drop shaped bottle" I immediately think method.

So sometimes companies just like to watch out for copycats of this nature who might be attempting to take a percentage of their "brand style".

I also realize that some of method's scents aren't unique. I just think it's funny that two of Swissco's scents are exactly the same as method's; while the third seems to be a takeoff on sea minerals.

OR I could just be reading too much into it all. Hey, I'm not a lawyer. And method definitely isn't the first to do grapefruit and french lavender...actually, I don't think those scents are very originally at all (and my least favorite). Sorry, not to sound all negative, I just don't think method is as creative as I once thought they were.Karinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06839577226208588561noreply@blogger.com
