clean sweeps

Just thought I'd let everyone know Target seems to be doing another round of "method cuts"! The latest products currently being clearanced from their store shelves include:

+ olive leaf creamy body wash
+ squeaky green kids body wash and shampoos (both fuzzy peach and crisp apple. It appears Target is dropping the kids line. I've also noticed they've really cut back on the baby line as well. At most of my Targets they are now carrying only the body wash and bubbly bath. I've heard from so many people that method's diaper cream lotion works amazingly well; so it's rather stupid of Target to stop carrying that product!)
+ and waterflower gel hand wash

This doesn't necessarily mean method is discontinuing these products, but rather Target has decided to stop carrying them. So run out and stock up while you still can!

+ I've also noticed Lowes Hardware is clearancing method's water lily + aloe and fresh air fabric softeners (more than likely to make room for the new upcoming pump bottle method brand) and if you're lucky you can pick some up for $2.89! Check out your Lowes and see if they have any left!

makin' a splash!

The otters are back! (Sorta, temporarily, kinda for a bit) But this time around, they're making a splash at your local Big Lots!

I did a little roaming around a nearby Big Lots tonight (always scouring to see if method has decided to get rid of some oldie but goodies! Every time I hope and finger cross that I'll find me some frosted fir candles, or hand wash, or eh, anything frosted fir. But so far, no luck! Random, yes!) But what DID I find in the beauty section of my Big Lots - Otters! Since method has now given Mr. Otter's job to Mr. Penguin (remember how on daytime soaps they'd say sometimes, when an actor or actress wasn't able to do her role for a couple days "The role of Mr. Otter is now being played by Mr. Penguin." Remember? Oh, does anyone even watch daytime soaps anymore? Eh. I guess not, since they're all being cancelled. Ok, enough rambling. Riiight.)

You can find it all. Bubbly bath (picked some up, smelling awfully rice milk + mallowy as I type this!), crisp apple and fuzzy peach body wash and 3-in-1 shampoo! Keep in mind at least at my store, the body wash was with the body wash, and the shampoo was actually located elsewhere, of course in the shampoo section (so even though the bottles look identical, they did place them in content specific areas, unlike at Target.) So if you're hunting for some baby/kid method goodies, now's your chance! Mine were only $3. a piece! Have fun! And of course, let method lust know if you happen to find any other method goodies at Big Lots while you're out and about!

So if you remember, months and months o' go, Big Lots got in a slew of method's original wet dryer sheets! In ALL scents - sweet water, water lily + aloe, go naked, nectarine blossom, and... oh, but WAIT! No lavender + juniper. Only, people, my most favoritest scent of them ALL! What was the deal'e'oh!?

Well, the stars have finally lined up! Walking into my local Big Lots yesterday, what did I just discover, but lavender + juniper wet dryer sheets! In fact I had to do a double take? "Wha? Are those what I think those are?" Why in the world this one scent was "held" for months is beyond me, but uh, I have no clue how this secondary sales market stuff goes. And really, who cares? Cause I got me some lavender + juniper! So I snatched up five packages! I lust me some lavender + juniper!

I also noticed the original method baby laundry detergent sitting on the shelves. So it looks like they've recently received a new small shipment of method laundry products (other users have noticed more water lily + aloe laundry detergent as well.) So head on out and stock on up!

+ Melissa let me know that drugstore.com is having a sale on method's squeaky green baby line!

I picked up two of the Rice Milk & Mallow washes, I've been waiting for them to go on sale but they never seem to, so I jumped on this." (FYI - It appears the sale is only good on the rice milk + mallow scent.)

No, not my baby! Our office is having a slew of babies on the way as of late (well, alright, if you count two a slew. But then the woman down the hall in another business had a baby recently; and there was this mysterious baby crib sitting in the hallway near our office for a day that no one knew who it belonged to; so in my mind babies are freakin' falling out of the sky right now! Alright?) Anyway, I decided it was time to jump on the "giving method as a gift" bandwagon so many others here on method lust do, and gave method baby for a shower gift!

The first baby shower we had was pre-method baby. It was just getting ready to debut, so no luck on that one (though I did give the dad my baby wash method had sent me as a sneak peek! Just cause I'm sweet you know! But that fuzzy peach 3-in-1 shampoo so stayed with me.) But this time around I was trying to decide what to give the other father-to-be that works in our office (and we were going to be having a baby shower for him and his wife) and decided on the method baby line! (While at Target, mind you, the new Dwell Studio baby line; blankets, clothing, plush toys, all in such modern adorableness threatened to sidetrack my method plans! Those things are so amazingly mod and retro and just plain cool, I decided I was gonna go adopt right then and there just so I could dress the kid up in cute clothes! ...then I decided that might not be the best thing to do. Children aren't accessories, children aren't accessories. Repeat as necessary.)

Anywho... whew! In the end I decided to save the planet, and realized the method products would be much more useful. Plush giraffes with blue polka dots do have a place, but all babies gotta be washed, ya know? So I picked up the method baby wash, diaper cream, and body lotion. I SO wanted to pick up the bubbly bath, but money is tight; and I decided that was the least necessary item in the line. (Poor little albino otter, I'm sorry.) Yes, my photographic skills still suck, but you can see from the top photo the before, and this photo, the after.

I actually ended up using the original box method sent my sneak peeks, to put the gift in; including the brown recycle crinkle paper to pad the bottom. I did put one sheet of white tissue in to perk it up. Then wrapped it up all nice and gay like! And I think they'll really like it! (I got a thank you note today!) Many times when I give method to people, I really don't think they "get it" without me saying "it's good for the environment, and natural, and healthy, and will save baby seals and kittens; and bring all of Mother Nature together!" but I'm hoping people will read the small print on the bottles, and catch on. We'll see!

One note, Target either sells out of the baby wash like crazy, or barely orders any. I only found one bottle each at two different stores. The first bottle had, uhm, exploded or something, so I passed on that. (I love how even though the bottles are all nasty and messy, the Target employees just put them out/leave them out anyway.) Target needs to order more, or method is cleaning up on baby wash! Ha ha, get it, cleaning up... Yeah, it wasn't really funny to me, either.
