clean sweeps

Ah, spring time! What? It's still winter and frosty and cold and there are snowmen frolicking in your yard? Well, here in North Carolina it's a very springy week (so far!) And spring leads one to day dream about new method products! Really, it does. No, I'm being serious. Whatever, so I day dream about new method products all the time. I even come up with my own sometimes. And then I forget which are the real products, and which are the fake products, and then sometimes I'll have to go cry in a corner for a little bit because I need to mourn the product that I thought was real real but was really just fake real. You know what I mean? But don't worry, it's not a really bad crying jag. More of a whimper with some tears. Maybe the occassional wail, but nothing more. I promise...

So yeah, new products! Well, if you follow method over on their Facebook page, you notice every once in a while they'll pop something big in over there, just to see if people are paying attention. And trust me, I am. I am! How about these two goodies!

+ Looks like we'll be seeing new limited edition hand washes this April! So use up what you have left from the holiday line, and get ready for some delicious scented newbies to fill Target shelves! (And psst - just between you and me, we're talking not just one, but four new scents! 2 + 2 = four new scents! But that's all I can tell you now. More news the closer it gets to April... is it April yet? Oh, ok. Man, I got a while... argh.)

+ method also announced on their Facebook page that we should be seeing new dish soap refills hitting shelves this Spring! How cool is that! Hey, they might even have a new lemongrass dish soap refill out then, too! Wait, what? That's one of my pretend real products? Well, I refuse. method, get on it! (But uhm yay, dish soap refills!)

and lastly (not new product related, but still cool method product related)

+ method luster Jamison has let me know he's just found a new shipment of method candles showing up at his Big Lots store! Frosted fir, fig, cut grass, peppermint vanilla and more! So of course I leapt from my work chair, told them I had the flu suddenly, and ran to Big Lots to find... nothing. Yet! But I'm holding out they just haven't hit my store shelves yet! Cause frosted fir candles... oh yeah. Who needs Valentine's day 50% off candy when you got frosted fir candles. Who needs Valentines day 50% off candy when you have a date... oh but let's not go there, ok? I'm still mourning my method teeth whitening system. Yes! Yes, it's a real fake product. Hence the mourning! So let's leave dating out for the time being. I can only take one disappointment at a time... and you are a disappointment, Ted! A complete and total disappointment! Don't talk to me like that! Where were my roses, Ted? Hmm?... wait, is this thing off?...

...now, where is that ADD medication.

clean sweeps

UPDATED

+ Be sure to check out your newspaper this Sunday, as method has a nice and nifty $1. off coupon for their new anti-bacterial cleaning line inside!

+ method lust reader Jason let us know he's recently found all-surface cleaning spray in lavender and pink grapefruit, at his local Big Lots! For a mere $1.50! Other readers have also found squeaky green laundry detergent (64 load bottle!) in sweet water and free + clear for $5.00; and almond flower creamy body wash for $3.00! So head on out this weekend and see if your Big Lots has some new method goodies! And let method lust know what you find!

HOLIDAY UPDATEI took a stroll into Target today, and discovered some of the "competition" aircare lines are hitting shelves now. method's holiday hand wash line hasn't shown up yet (it should hit early-November) but the Glade line is out in around five scents, including candles and aroma spray. I gotta say though, I think Glade is pretty much bottom of the barrel when it comes to quality (and it's definitely not green) so I'd have to take a pass on their holiday line. But they do have a peppermint crush candle that smells a lot like method's peppermint vanilla scent.

Febreze also has a holiday line of candles and spray out, including cranberries and frost, which reminds me of method's frosted cranberry scent. And finally, Target has gotten in two of Mrs. Meyer's candles from their holiday line (orange clove and Iowa pine.) Now they have four in the line, as well as dish soap, spray cleaner and hand wash. So I'm not sure if Target will be getting the remainder in later, or if this is all we get. - Which would be a huge disappointment. Except, the candles are already a disappointment (as far as I'm concerned.) They're tiny, I'm talking 4.9 oz. tiny! method's candle line was 6.5 oz at $7.99, and people complained about that price. Mrs. Meyer's holiday candles are 4.9 for $6.99! Once you see them, you might understand. I simply can't justify the price, so I won't be buying these. And the orange clove scent, totally not what I was hoping for. A couple years ago Old Navy put out an amazing orange clove candle that smelled 200% better than the Mrs. Meyer's candle. So I'll be passing on these as well.

I'm curious what everyone else thinks once they've had a chance to check out these lines, so drop method lust a comment or email! Here's to wishing yet again, method would give us our great holiday line back! Cause the other brands don't seem to be cutting it.

clean sweeps

+ A wonderful method luster let me know they've just found method's creamy moisturizing hand wash line (olive leaf, white tea, and almond flower) as well as some gel hand washes in sweet water and green tea + aloe, at their local Big Lots! The creamy hand wash is $2.00, while the gel hand wash is $1.50. Snatch some up!

+ Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart to the wonderful readers that donated to method lust's registration renewal request! You all rawk! And we've already hit our goal! So yay! A big ole' wet kiss from me, to you!

finds! - bloq

UPDATE I forgot to mention (and then method luster Sabrina reminded me!) I also found method glass, granite, and stainless steel microfiber cleaning cloths at Big Lots! I (believe, but I can't exactly remember) they were $2.50. Add'em to your Big Lots shopping list!

+

So yeah, you might all need to sit down for this one. No no, but seriously. I'll wait. Take your time. No rush. Ok. Seated? Good. Cause I got some big news for ya!

Big Lots has method bloq! Yes, yes, here are the smelling salts in case you start feeling lightheaded! Cause I'm talking bloq, from like what, two years ago?! In glorious green mint, beach sage, waterflower and citron leaf scents! In creamy body wash, shaving cream, lotion, and soap bars! At Big Lots! For one dollar each! One dollar?! Can you even comprehend that!? No, I didn't think so, cause neither can I! But it's true, I've had multiple method lusters let me know (thanks Jamison, and thanks for the pics, Jon!) And well yeah, I've discovered this for myself! In fact, I think they had to pick me up off the Big Lots floor after I turned the corner and saw those blocky square bottles just sitting there on the shelves!

"Where have you been?! Why did you leave me! It's been so long, so very very long! It's like, one day you just up and leave, and barely say goodbye (ok, well, you did throw that goodbye party, but still, I'm bitter, ok?!) and then you just what, you just go and take a two year trip to travel the Nile?! Or climb Mount Everest?! Or sit in some dark, dingy, warehouse? I mean, what is that all about! Then you reappear and pretend like nothing happened! "Hey, here I am! And I'm super cheap, too! Just cause, you know!" And I'm supposed to take you back in my arms, and love you like I once did, with no hurt feelings?!"

Ok, you got it! Now get in my cart! All of you. (Go. Big Lots! Now! bloq!)

finds! - microfiber glass cloths

Did a quick trip through good ole' Big Lots the other day, and happened to stumble upon some method window + glass microfiber cloths!

I really can't explain it, but mine apparently got tired of living with me and taking all that verbal abuse (I told it multiple times I was just stressed out from work, and didn't mean to take it all out on, well, it. But alas, I guess there's only so long a cleaning cloth will stick around in that kind of environment; and without wanting to go to couples therapy, man, I figured it was over.) Either that, or I just lost it. Oh oh, yeah. The second one. I haven't a CLUE how you can lose a microfiber cleaning cloth in my little house, but leave it to me to do so. I've searched everywhere, and could never find it. Target had clearanced them out ages ago (oh my, now THERE'S a surprise. Not.) but I knew I'd seen them at Lowes, so I figured sooner or later I'd pick another one up.

But hey, for $2.50 at Big Lots, I'm glad I held out! I don't THINK they're being discontinued or anything (though you never know) but more so I bet it's just over-supply or something... snatch up a few before they're gone! And let method lust know if you stumble upon anything else method-y while at your local Big Lots!

found!

So if you remember, months and months o' go, Big Lots got in a slew of method's original wet dryer sheets! In ALL scents - sweet water, water lily + aloe, go naked, nectarine blossom, and... oh, but WAIT! No lavender + juniper. Only, people, my most favoritest scent of them ALL! What was the deal'e'oh!?

Well, the stars have finally lined up! Walking into my local Big Lots yesterday, what did I just discover, but lavender + juniper wet dryer sheets! In fact I had to do a double take? "Wha? Are those what I think those are?" Why in the world this one scent was "held" for months is beyond me, but uh, I have no clue how this secondary sales market stuff goes. And really, who cares? Cause I got me some lavender + juniper! So I snatched up five packages! I lust me some lavender + juniper!

I also noticed the original method baby laundry detergent sitting on the shelves. So it looks like they've recently received a new small shipment of method laundry products (other users have noticed more water lily + aloe laundry detergent as well.) So head on out and stock on up!

great smellin' deals!

And off I went to Big Lots today, to of course pick one thing up, and walked out with way more than that! (Isn't this what always happens?!? And you'd think I'd be all frugal today. During an outing with some of my friends last night, I ended up losing $20. from my wallet! I'd just made that at a yard sale a week earlier... sniff. Ok, I don't even want to talk about it. Let's just put a positive spin on things and think that whoever found my lost $20. must have needed it more than me! Wait, where was I besides lamenting about my poorness... Oh, right! method stuff!)

So Big Lots must have gotten a (slight) new shipment of method candles, in the old school ceramic jars, in stock recently! They've carried some of these for a while, but a couple scents that haven't popped up lately make me believe this was a new shipment. And the really great deal at the moment is they're on sale for only $3.00 (normally $3.50. Ok, not a huge sale, but WAY better than the Target price of $7.99, don't you think?) I found all these scents at my local Big Lots:

Grapefruit pear (when is the last time you've seen that method scent?! This was an old aircare line scent that was discontinued ages and ages ago), beach sage, citrus cilantro, lavender + lemongrass, sweet water, eucalyptus mint, vanilla apple, gingerbread + spice, hollyberry, cinnamon bark, peppermint vanilla, and fresh lychee. Run out and pick some up while the sale is happening (not sure when it's over!) and uh, even when the sale isn't happening, cause I bet these will sell out! Mmm, method candles...

Friday, March 20, 2009

it's citrus, miss cilantro is you're nasty

Look what I found at my local Big Lots last night! They've gotten some citrus cilantro aroma rings in! Looks like the method products continue to trickle into the stores! I'm going to do some more Big Lots loitering this weekend, and see what I can see!

I also noticed on one of method's lastest twitter methodtweets they mentioned to an advocate lusting for some more beach sage bloq lotion (and not being able to find it at Target. Hello, how long has bloq been discontinued? Do these people not roam up and down the method aisles each and every time they go to their local Target!? Do they not sniff, and re-sniff all the scents anytime they see a method bottle, even though by now they know what they smell like in their sleep?! Are they not obsessed to a degree that's simply not right?! I mean, that sounds crazily sane! What's up with these people? And how can I get some of what they're drinking, cause really, I need help... no, really. Help me, please. I had another method dream last night. Don't even get me started. The big method boss (I don't remember who it was, it was a "dream boss") was firing me from method, even though I didn't work for method (not even in the dream! Ha ha!) even after I helped them all look for some method products in this crazy warehouse, but they had to cut corners; but then I said something profound to him, and he realized there was no way he could lose my utter genius, so he unfired me from being fired from a position I was never hired to! Yay! Ah dreams... I remember my family came up to me in my dream, on the side of the street (cause that's where you always meet your family, just roaming the streets.) And they were trying to talk to me and I was all like "Psh, psh! I'm on the phone with method! Can't talk now!" oh, where was I? Oh yes.)

...to possibly check their local Big Lots. Now, I'm not sure about you, but I have yet to see any bloq products pop up at Big Lots; so either it's was simply a suggestion not necessarily based on current fact (did you like that sentence? I did, it sounds very lawyer-y, doesn't it! Ok, ok, anyway...) OR perhaps they know something we don't, and bloq products could be hitting our Big Lots shelves very soon! Time will tell!

burnin' bright!

UPDATE Thanks to everyone who's sent in pics of the new candle stickers/paper wrap! (Especially Brit and Jamison!) I've, of course, gone crazy and purchased up a lavender + lemongrass candle to give a try (I'll give you my new burning review when I've had enough time to try it out!) It's burnin' as I type this! Until then, here are some crisp pics of the updated package! Let me know if you give them a try, and how the new wax burns for you!

+

OK all you lusters! News, news! New method candles (same glass jar, new wax formula!) The paper wrap says: "Burns Long, Burns Evenly" as well as "Breathe Easy". And there's even a side sticker that says: "New Wax Formula, Now Burns Even Better"! Yes! I knew it! I just hope they make it to stores BEFORE the big Target $4.99 sale is over on March 30th; because so far Brit seems to be the only one lucky enough to have found these! They've made it to Target stores, and I'm so curious to give them a try and see how they work!

I guess method received many more complaints than they let on about the bad burning of the soy candle wax. But I'm really excited to see they've made some changes, and I so hope they burn just as great as previous versions! Cause I lust me some method candles, can I tell you! (And thank you method green chef Ryan Williams, for new and improved! Yay!)

+

On other news: You might wanna go check out your local Big Lots one more time! Because I headed over to a couple near my home tonight, only a mere week after an earlier trip (don't ask, I know. I need help.) and they've gotten some NEW stuff in! Some of the items people have mentioned having popped up at their local stores, but not mine. And some I haven't heard anyone finding yet. They now have, get this people, the ENTIRE wet dryer sheet line. - Except... lavender + juniper. My favorite. WHAT is method trying to do to me? I mean, really? I don't even get it. They have them ALL! Water aloe + lily, go naked, sweet water, and nectarine blossom. Lots of them. But not ONE tiny box of lavender + juniper. The one scent I freak over! WHAT in the world? I've also found the holiday candles (hollyberry, cinnamon bark, and peppermint vanilla) now showing up at multiple Big Lots stores; as well as gingerbread + spice aroma pill refills, and water aloe + lily laundry detergent! So I'd do a second run!

IF ANYONE finds some lavender + juniper wet dryer sheets, PLEASE I'll do a trade or heck, I'll just pay you to buy and ship me some, if you'd be so kind! Thanks!

+

And finally, I just had to pass this one on, I got an email from reader Jamison tonight, and I'm sure he won't mind me sharing this bit, cause it's very true (and just happened to me, as well!) He says: "OMG! So normally I go with the Go Naked wipes, simply because I like the scandalous name and people ask about them when they see them in my "Method Basket" on my counter. So I was at Target the other day and sadly, they were out of the Go Naked wipes. I thought I would go out on a limb, take a huge chance and try the Lavender wipes instead. They've sat in waiting for me under the sink, until today, when I ran out of my Go Naked wipes. Of course, they clean just like my old faithful Go Naked wipes, but wow, they smell AMAZING! I am in love with this scent. Absolutely love it. So, the moral of this rave: Be daring. Try new scents!"

Jamison, you're so right! In fact, the candle sale at Target got me to FINALLY pick up a vanilla apple candle and give it a try. I've smelled the scent on and off FOREVER, but never bought it. And I took a chance, and you know what, I really like it! I was rather surprised! So I think this is a great idea! If there is a method scent out there you simply haven't given a try, go on and do it! You might be amazed! Thanks Jamison for sharing!

method lust market

UPDATE Had a problem with the Paypal donate button, but it should be shiny new and working right, now! Thanks!

+

Ok, readers! People are screaming, yelling, crying, begging, and well, just peeing their pants (and really, didn't we learn that wasn't a good thing to do when we were three? Come on people, work with me!) over the discovery of peppermint vanilla aroma pills at Big Lots! So, never let it be said that your favorite blog site (ahem, that would be method lust, ok?) doesn't help you out! SO, here's the dish...

I would LUST just buying up all those peppermint vanilla pills and spreading them out to the masses via a big Mardi Gras parade float! But, have I mentioned before that ole' Nate is poor! Poor, poor, always and (hopefully not forever) poor! BUT there is something I can for you! I can be the middle man! (And not in the "I get 50% of the cut" middle man kind of guy, either! Yay!)

Here's how it goes. There are like a zillion packages of peppermint vanilla aroma pill refills (two packs, so for each $4.00 pack, you get two refills) at my three Big Lots. If you would like for me to pick some up for you, all you need to do is donate to method lust!

No wait! It's not a tit for tat thing! What I mean is, you see that donate button on the right sidebar? Ok, it's for donating to ole' method lust! BUT, it doesn't get used much. Ha ha! So, let's dust it off, and use it for a whole 'nother purpose!

(I'm gonna try to make this as easy as possible.) You decide how many peppermint vanilla aroma pill refill packs (2 in each pack) you want at $4.40 each (tax included in that total.) Then add $2.00 for shipping supplies (I'll have to buy a box, definitely use some packing material, and tape it all up.) total it all up, and then click on that donate button, AND list it (you can add a message to the donation) as your peppermint vanilla aroma pill purchase, letting me know how many you're buying, and your mailing and email address. Easy so far, right?

I'll pack it all up, take it to the post office, have it weighed, and THEN get the shipping charge to you. Which you can then also pay via the Donate/Paypal button. I wish I had an easier way to do this part, but I don't really want to charge a flat fee, as someone might buy ten boxes, while someone else might buy two. And really, it's a snap to pay via Paypal!

+

So, what do you think? I'm just tryin' to help all you peppermint vanilla lusters out there, and thought this might be a great idea! I was thinking also, recently, how the method market isn't really cutting it. (sniff sniff) but wondered if this might be a better way for the market to go. What if everyone put in their finds at local stores (especially Big Lots, etc. for discontinued product), and people could purchase them through other readers via Paypal, etc. and the method market? It's a thought! Let me know if you like the idea!

Monday, March 9, 2009

uhm...

So while checking out the last Big Lots in my local area (or the last one I can find, darn it! I'll find you, if you're hiding!) I stumbled upon, oh my word, cinnamon bark, hollyberry, and peppermint vanilla candles! Yes! I was so surprised! (And I did forget to mention something else reader Brit had also found, which was a package set in either cucumber, or lavender (though I've only found the cucumber ones) of dish soap, hand wash, wipes, and multisurface spray cleaner. They used to have these as "college kits" at Target! They come in a wire basket, as well! AND, I found gingerbread + spice candles, too! In the new glass jars, and the old school ceramic ones.) ANYWAY, I got SO excited at my newest method find (me likey some candles!) that I suddenly came to a sobering notion:

"If method products were a movie star, I'd have a restraining order against me."

Yes, yes, it's seriously true. How about you?

new (old) finds!

Well, well! Check out my latest finds on today's road trip to Big Lots! I wasn't really expecting anything to pop up (other than the old packaging wipes reader Jamison had mentioned earlier last week.) But there was a slew of new stuff!

I picked up some method free + clear laundry detergent (they've had the sweet water for a while now, but I'm so excited they got the free + clear!) $3.00 people! Crazy! And I snatched up a refill bag of ginger yuzu hand wash (can you believe this is my FIRST ever bag hand wash refill purchase?! I know, I know... well, wait, I did purchase some of the hard bottle refills a zillion years ago, so does that count? Eh. Who knows!) $2.50 (for about three bottles worth of hand wash refill!) And they had, oh my I squealed like a pig (but in a good way!) when I saw them, nectarine blossom wet dryer sheets! OH YES! I grabbed up some of those, as well! $2.50! I also decided to buy up the last remaining fig candles they had sitting around, since those suckers are about gone (they've been at my Big Lots forever, and I'll buy a couple at a time, but I'm not rich, so I couldn't just pick up every last one. But there were a few remaining today, and I knew that was going to be it for my fig lust, so I caved!)

BUT, they have a ton more stuff I didn't get. Sweet water hand wash bottles ($2.00), peppermint vanilla plug-in double pack refills ($4.00), hollyberry aroma sticks ($6.00), hollyberry aroma rings ($4.00), beach sage plug-in refills ($2.50), cut grass plug-in + refill pack ($4.00), steel for real wipes ($2.50), and pink grapefruit wipes (and Jamison said his has wood for good, and granite wipes. I didn't see them at the three (yes, YES, three! LOL) stores I went to. They ALL had exactly the same thing.) And they had a ZILLION peppermint vanilla plug-in refills. I mean, a ZILLION.

One day I'm gonna have to sit down with those method folks and get the lowdown on how this stuff gets divided out? I'm just really curious. I was DYING to find some lavender + lemongrass wet dryer sheets, but NO one had anything but about five boxes at each store of the nectarine blossom. What's up with that? Cause the whole line was discontinued. OH, my lavender + lemongrass dryer sheets, I LUST you so! And I'm down to my last box. Sniff. I guess it'll just be nectarine blossom from here on out. AND, why a zillion peppermint vanilla refills, but no hollyberry or cinnamon bark ones? (Cause these were from that year's line.) Isn't that odd?

Let me know if you find anything different at your local Big Lots! And happy hunting!

+

PS - LOL, and method luster Brit just posted this in the comments (I hadn't noticed! She beat me to it!) "I just got a nice Method find at a Big Lots is Mass. Everything from soap, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dish soap, candles, aroma pills, wipes and stuff like that. Does Method make, or use to make, Nectarine Blossom laundry soap? I found the dryer sheets, now I want the soap lol."

Cool! What scent dish soap and candles did you find? The old ceramic candles? I'm curious! We didn't get any new candles in at my store, as the two I picked up have been there forever. And sadly, no, method never made nectarine blossom laundry soap. Just dryer sheets! But don't they rock! Mmm...

clean sweeps!

A couple items of quick interest for all you lusters!

+ Melissa let me know that drugstore.com is having a sale on method's squeaky green baby line!

"Thought you might be interested to know that drugstore.com is currently having a sale on Method baby products - buy one get one free! I picked up two of the Rice Milk & Mallow washes, I've been waiting for them to go on sale but they never seem to, so I jumped on this." (FYI - It appears the sale is only good on the rice milk + mallow scent.)

PS - She's also started a green blog, so I thought I'd give it a quick shout out! You can check it out at Thrifty In Green!

+ method lust reader Jamison found some new goodies at his local Big Lots recently!

"...It appears that Big Lots has a plethora of the Wood For Good, Go Naked and Granite wipes in the old containers for $2.50. THAT'S A STEAL!"

clean sweeps

+ Sniff. Sniff. Ok, so I got a prized bottle of the new multi-surface ginger yuzu cleaning spray recently (Yay!); and decided to hold off on using it until this spring/summer, as it's just such a summery, pineappley (to me, anyway!) scent! I do crazy things like this, that's why people think I'm well, weird. Cause, I am. But, I also decided this weekend to whip the bottle out and clean the bathroom with it, to get a chance to try it out! So I cleaned the bathroom all bright and shiny; carried a few (I ALWAYS end up carrying too many things at once, you'd think I'd learn, no?) of my cleaning items back into the kitchen, where I store them, and SLIP, I dropped my ginger yuzu bottle! Oh well, I've dropped my method bottles many a time, right? It'll just bounce and wait for me to pick it up, gently caress it, tell it I'm so very sorry, give it a little kiss on the nozzle, and off to la-la land it goes under the counter (I know, I know! method, under the counter! But I can't show off ALL my method, or I wouldn't have room for anything else, you know?! Oh, wait, that's not what you're making that face about? It's about the caressing and kissing, and... I already told you, I'm weird, ok?!)

But it fell to the floor, and SNAP! the entire head of the bottle, as in entire, cracked right off, and precious ginger yuzu cleaner went spilling all over the floor! NO! I picked it up as quickly as I could, but still had a lot of the spray cleaner puddled all over the floor. I ended up mopping it up, and cleaning the kitchen floor, so it smelled all ginger yuzu/pineappley! But I was so sad for my bottle. Right now the remains are living in an old lavender bottle. But it's just not the same, you know? The entire top cracked off, where the spray nozzle connects with the bottle (I guess the neck?) Has this ever happened to you? I'm curious!

+ For those lucky few that might still find a few method candles in the ceramic jars at their local Big Lots (like me! They still have a few left. I picked up four more fig candles this weekend! Yes! Oh figgy figgy goodness!) It seems like while the price on the jar still says $4.00, it actually rings up at $3.50 now! (Since they've had them for like, ever! I guess they knocked a few off.) So hey, not a bad savings! Pick'em up, while you still can! (PS - We have yet to get any of the dish cubes. Sigh. Man, what I wouldn't give for some lavender dish cubes! Ah well, I guess it isn't meant to be.)

Oh, and speaking of method ceramic jar candles, right now they're all 30% off on their method home site! The sale goes until the end of February!

brand new at big lots!

OH my! method luster Melane is on a roll! She just sent in a few photos of method products she's spotted about town (including the wet dryer sheets that have shown up at Whole Foods! Man, I wish I had one of those closer to home!) But check out this pic, method's original dish cubes! I know many of you differ on your lust for these (Karin, I'm talking to you... Ha ha!) but personally, I loved them! Oh, lavender! Lavender! That's what I want, method! Dish cubes in lavender. I drool over the new smarty dish! Really, I do... but no lavender. Sniff sniff. So, I about fell out of my chair when I saw this pic! And immediately ran to three different Big Lots, all... with no luck. I'm hoping these are just now making their way to Big Lots the country over, and I'll be seeing them soon, cause really, I need my lavender dish cube fix! Ahh! (Oh yeah, and them came in pink grapefruit and cucumber, too! Sorry, I was "one-scent" distracted there...)

...And here is a photo of the lavender (do you see a theme here?) all-surface spray! But it's a two pack, with a giant refill (in the same style as the shower spray refill bottle) all for only $7! Yowza! Again, awesome! And again, didn't find it at my local store. And again again, praying it makes it's way sooner rather than later. I think this all-surface spray refill idea is great! Though it looks like method only did this as a one time thing, for this special purchase package. These have been mentioned as having been spotted previously (is that even English?), by other method lusters, along with the two bottle pack and refill (the whole package in a similar style to this lavender set up here) of sweet water hand wash (which I DID find! Of course, since I have no personal interest in sweet water. What pain, what punishment, what suffering is this, to find the one item you don't want, and never find the zillion you do?! Oh, woe is me, woe is me!)

So be on the lookout for these new items popping up at your local Big Lots! And let me know if you see them! (And also let my English teacher know I need a brush up, ok? Whew...)

clean sweeps!

+ Big Lots blowout! If you haven't taken a trip to your local Big Lots lately, do! It looks like method (or whoever sends these things out? I'm not sure...) has done a big new shipment! Lusters from all over are finding all sorts of method greatness! In fact, I decided to head out this weekend, and found a slew (I'm talkin' slew!) of ginger yuzu hand wash in gel and foaming varieties! As well as some sweet water hand wash (again in both versions), a couple bottles of sweet water laundry detergent, more eucalyptus + mint gel hand wash (again, tons of it!) and let's not forget some almond flower, olive leaf, and white tea creamy hand wash!

Reader Josh found the above hand soap combo packs (which I've never even seen!) in sweet water and green tea + aloe. A mere $6. for 2 bottles and a 25 oz. refill! So definitely head on over to Big Lots, and find some finds!

+ And speaking of finds, Josh is a lucky, lucky man! Check out this photo!

He found this display at his local Wegman's (and I so wish we had this chain in the south east! MAN! Look at all those candles... sniff sniff. And aroma beads. Oh, I'm in pain! Pain, I tell ya! So much lusting, so little time.) He says: "Hand soaps, rings, candles, beads, and sticks were all there (and on sale too! $2.79 for soap I believe, $9.99 for rings, $4.99 for candles or something ...i forget really. the only thing missing was the all surface spray." Oh, Josh, and I think the dish soap is missing as well.

It makes my tiny little cardboard stand at my Harris Teeter look so puny in comparison. And speaking of said cardboard stand, my fears were true! No restock! I just went yesterday, and the stand was gone! Gone. And I found two little bottles, one cinnamon bark, and one peppermint vanilla, just shoved on an end cap, with cereal. LOL The poor cinnamon bark bottle is all banged up and dented. And no one loves it. Didn't they see Rudolph? Don't they know about misfit toys? Won't someone take in this little sad bottle? So anyway, it looks like you definitely need to be picking up these last year finds while you can, cause when they're gone, they're gone! ...Unless you have a Wegman's, it looks like. Then you can swim in method holiday products. Sigh!

+ Josh (he's popular in this post!) also asked if anyone has seen any method dryer sheets. As he's been looking everywhere, but no luck. Unforunately, as far as I know Josh, the only place to find them right now is on method's site. Target pulled the wet dry sheets ages ago, and they've since been discontinued (I swear, if Big Lots shows up some lavender + juniper wet dry sheets, I'm buying out the LOT! I'm so not joking! Oh, I lust those things...) method is replacing the line with the new wet dry sheets in sweet water, rice milk + mallow, and go naked. BUT, I haven't seen those anywhere yet. And the original dryer sheets were gone long, long ago (in a galaxy far away!)

clean sweeps!

+ Ok, so get this. I thought this was just TOO unbelievable. This past weekend we had our annual crafts festival. I lust it! It happens every Thanksgiving weekend, and I go every year. It's a great place to not only be inspired, but to pick out some amazing handcrafted works for your loved ones this holiday season!

So while waiting in line (for a sampling of some hot cranberry beverage that I try every year, but actually don't like. But it's tradition! Yes, yes, I'm insane. Did you just now figure this out?) these two women in front of me were making purchases. Each bought a package of the drink mix (what were THEY thinking?!) and the man placed each one into a plastic bag, which the women then took and slipped into...

oh we need a drum roll here really bad.

...their "Paper or Plastic? Neither" reusable totes they'd purchased from Walmart; which they were each sporting on their shoulders. I literally rolled my eyes and spoke OUT LOUD to them, in as nice a way as I could muster "Don't you think that pretty much destroys the entire point of those bags?" and let out a laugh, so they didn't think I was about to beat them out. They both started laughed uncomfortably, realizing what they'd done, and one said "Oh my, it just might." and then the other one, I guess realizing she wasn't going down without a fight, said "Ha ha, It might not, though." To which I responded, "Oh no, it does."

Ok, OK. So I didn't say that very last line. But it was burning a space in my brain as I walked away from them. I mean, COME on people? Give me a break. And... rant over. (Hey, it's almost resolutions time! What will yours be this year? No more plastic bags? No more paper towels. Come on, break that bad habit! AND, more on this later... I know, you're so excited.)

+ method lust readers Josh and Kirby have both been scouring the aisles at their local Big Lots lately, and have come back with lots of method finds! Josh has found quite a few of the items previously mentioned here on method lust (eucalyptus + mint hand wash, fig candles, aroma pill refills, etc.) but did also find some sweet water laundry detergent. Perhaps because the new line has hit stores (note on that. Has anyone seen this yet? Target clearanced out the old laundry line, we now have nothing but some softener. And nada. No new line. I'm curious if it's hit anywhere else? But I swear method said it's already made it's way to stores. Perhaps this is the line that will hit in waves. I forget... hey, I write a lot of method stuff. I forget, I'm not an elephant. Anyway...)

Kirby happened to find some ginger yuzu foaming hand wash! So you might want to head out to your local Big Lots and give them a new look see. Josh said to check everywhere, as many of the items he found were in boxes throughout the store, not even on shelves! (Or uhm, perhaps you just have a really messy Big Lots there, Josh. I've seen some doozies!) Good luck everyone!

(PS - Thanks to Sustainable Is Good for the (doctored) photo.)

+ Yeah, see over there on the right. There is no advocate spotlight. You really want to see me cry, now don't you? No, you, I'm pointing at you. That's alright. If you want to see a grown man cry, just keep not sending in your advocate spotlight. OR, you could make me happy, and send one in! Oh, happy is so much better than crying Nathan. Trust me. All cranky and red eyed. Not a pretty sight. Come on, rub your lust for method in everyone else's face! You know you lust method more than they do. Go on, show it. Get in their face. Make them know just how much you love method! I dare you! (Is any of this working? Is this thing on? Hello, hello?)

more big deals!

method lust reader Missy was right! After she'd mentioned finding hand wash and refill packages during a recent Big Lots trip, I decided to stop in this weekend and see if anything new had popped up. And I wasn't disappointed! It definitely seems like, to me at least, method is cleaning out the warehouse, cause more and more products are showing up at Big Lots. Now, for some reason there is only one Big Lots in my area that is getting most of it. The others pretty much just have the plug-ins (cut grass and fresh lychee.) But I don't know how their shipments work, and such, so...

Missy found pink grapefruit, lavender, eucalyptus + mint, and green tea + aloe hand soaps; as well as handsoap refills in eucalyptus + mint and the green tea + aloe, in the old refill containers (not the bags.) At my local store, I also found pomegrante hand wash (I was so excited about this! I had never tried the pomegrante! But (sorry method) it smelled like cherry Kool-Aid to me, and was so not what I expected, that I passed. I can see why it was discontinued, personal opinion only!) and they also had grapfruit + pear plug-in refills! Man, I hadn't seen those in forever! They were in the new aircare packaging as well, as these must be ones you buy online; as they've been discontinued from Target forever (but are still available on the method home site.) They did also have cucumber hand soap and refill bottles. They did not have the pink grapefruit (boo!) or the green tea + aloe soaps at my Big Lots.

I went back to also pick up another bottle of the spiced pear cleaning spray for a friend of mine, and BOOM, they were all gone! Popular! My two (non-method at the moment) friends love the scent! Hint hint, method!

Great deals!

darn you method

Sigh... ok, do you see that pic above. I went nuts. NUTS. Want the whole story?

So yesterday I'd mentioned how someone let me know about method bloq being sold at their local Goodwill; and how I started running around for the lust of my life, green mint, to no avail; but also stopped at Big Lots to see if they had anything. And discovered some cut grass and fresh lychee aroma pill combo packs. Then someone mentioned they found discontinued candles as well at their local Big Lots. So I ended up checking two other stores, and discovered nothing more than a few fresh lychee pill refills.

But still aching over the fact this person had found the elusive fig candle (which I like, well, just drool uncontrollably over, mind you) I decided to head on over WAY to the other side of town, and see what that Big Lots held for me. I hadn't been there in forever, forever, and forever. I was sure it'd be just like the other store finds. And you know what...

...it was like a freakin' gold mine of method madness! Do you see what I found in the pic above? Huh? HUH? Do you know HOW much money I spent there? Do you know how the lady at the cash register just sort of stared at me wondering why I was buying like fifty dollars worth of cleaning and candle products?? Let's pause for a moment... yes, I said it. Fifty dollars. That's CAR-AZY! Like, I can't figure out how I'm literally going to afford to pay for gasoline for my guzzling truck for the rest of the month, but I suddenly decide to throw down fifty dollars on method discontinued products cause, well, I can't help myself! It's a sickness I tell you, a sickness! No one should get this excited over cleaning products! Really! The guy in the cleaning aisle that worked at Big Lots and was stocking finally had to walk off for a moment, as I just stood there in awe of everything and couldn't figure out what I was going to get and just wanted to scoop up everything and he realized I was about to destroy all his work of neatly placed items on the shelves and had to just leave me to my own devices!

And so let's do a rundown here, ok? Cause really I can't believe I found some of this stuff. We're talking yes, that is spiced pear all surface cleaner you see there. What the heck?! That stuff hasn't been around for a year and a half! I couldn't believe it! Along with the spiced pear candles I'd finally bought earlier in the day, I'm full up on some spiced pear lust! Then we have three lavender + lemongrass pill refills in their old packaging, and two lavender floorcare bottles! Lavender floorcare, from back in the old school method days! Yo, where did this stuff come from?! I can add this to my two bottles of rosemary mint floorcare I still have, and I'm floorcare covered until I'm 90 years old, I believe! (Cause this stuff lasts forever, because you have to dilute the earlier version with water.) Then we have one lavender + lemongrass candle, just cause they had a few for some weird reason; and then the skies lit open and the clouds parted and we're talking six freakin' fig candles here people! Six! And I wanted to buy more (they had a few more left!) but just could NOT afford it. I'm in figgy fig Heaven! Man!

So there you have it, I'm so freakin' poor it's scary. I think I need to start going to method anonymous meetings, but my house will sure smell pretty while all this is happening. So be sure to head over to your nearest Big Lots, cause someone (be it method or Big Lots) decided to clean out their method vaults and went crazy! Have fun, let me know what you find!

(Note: another method luster let me know he found some fig aroma ring refills for $2. So it's just all sorts of stuff! If I could find some fig aroma pill refills, well, let's just say they'd have to cart me away to the funny farm! Cause I'd be so excited! Oh, and by the way, this is just what I bought. They also had eucalyptus + mint, lavender + lemongrass and sweet water pill combo packs; sweet water pill refills, and eucalyptus + mint candles!)
