method lust market

UPDATE Had a problem with the Paypal donate button, but it should be shiny new and working right, now! Thanks!

+

Ok, readers! People are screaming, yelling, crying, begging, and well, just peeing their pants (and really, didn't we learn that wasn't a good thing to do when we were three? Come on people, work with me!) over the discovery of peppermint vanilla aroma pills at Big Lots! So, never let it be said that your favorite blog site (ahem, that would be method lust, ok?) doesn't help you out! SO, here's the dish...

I would LUST just buying up all those peppermint vanilla pills and spreading them out to the masses via a big Mardi Gras parade float! But, have I mentioned before that ole' Nate is poor! Poor, poor, always and (hopefully not forever) poor! BUT there is something I can for you! I can be the middle man! (And not in the "I get 50% of the cut" middle man kind of guy, either! Yay!)

Here's how it goes. There are like a zillion packages of peppermint vanilla aroma pill refills (two packs, so for each $4.00 pack, you get two refills) at my three Big Lots. If you would like for me to pick some up for you, all you need to do is donate to method lust!

No wait! It's not a tit for tat thing! What I mean is, you see that donate button on the right sidebar? Ok, it's for donating to ole' method lust! BUT, it doesn't get used much. Ha ha! So, let's dust it off, and use it for a whole 'nother purpose!

(I'm gonna try to make this as easy as possible.) You decide how many peppermint vanilla aroma pill refill packs (2 in each pack) you want at $4.40 each (tax included in that total.) Then add $2.00 for shipping supplies (I'll have to buy a box, definitely use some packing material, and tape it all up.) total it all up, and then click on that donate button, AND list it (you can add a message to the donation) as your peppermint vanilla aroma pill purchase, letting me know how many you're buying, and your mailing and email address. Easy so far, right?

I'll pack it all up, take it to the post office, have it weighed, and THEN get the shipping charge to you. Which you can then also pay via the Donate/Paypal button. I wish I had an easier way to do this part, but I don't really want to charge a flat fee, as someone might buy ten boxes, while someone else might buy two. And really, it's a snap to pay via Paypal!

So, what do you think? I'm just tryin' to help all you peppermint vanilla lusters out there, and thought this might be a great idea! I was thinking also, recently, how the method market isn't really cutting it. (sniff sniff) but wondered if this might be a better way for the market to go. What if everyone put in their finds at local stores (especially Big Lots, etc. for discontinued product), and people could purchase them through other readers via Paypal, etc. and the method market? It's a thought! Let me know if you like the idea!

how's the market?

No, no, not the stock market. The method market! It began recently, and there was a lot of interest in the overall idea. But how has it worked out for you so far? I gotta say, I think there's big potential in the market, but I don't think things are quite there yet. Items are out there for trade, but (as far as I can tell) no go so far.

So what do you all think? How could method lust make the market better? What is, and isn't working? I'm all up for some suggestions! Thanks!

check out the deals

Hey all! Since the method market is still rather new, every once in a while I'll check it out and let you know what's available (until people remember it's there! Ha ha!) There are some great method products in there, for your perusal!

+ Frosted cranberry hand wash, beach sage bloq body wash, green mint bloq shaving cream, pink grapefruit and cucumber bowling pin (old school!) dish soap (I didn't realize they made pink grapefruit in the bowling pin!), some aircare aroma sprays, a citrus cilantro candle, and another old school item, a fresh laundry premium candle!

So run on over (OR just check out the method market link in the sidebar, click on the image) and if interested, post a comment! Have something to add, add away! Have fun!

to the market, to the market!

Alright, follow along. I'm gonna try to make this easy to understand. (Cause I can make things sound so unnecessarily complicated! No no, it's true.)

Ok, so let's say I run out to Target, and pick myself up a nice delicious peppermint vanilla hand wash! Mmm. I use it for a while, and then one of the following happens:

+ "Uhm, I'm not really a peppermint vanilla kind of guy" I think to myself, and stop using it. All that peppermint vanilla hand wash goodness going to waste.

+ "The holidays are over!" And I store my peppermint vanilla hand wash away, only to find it months later, and think "you know, I don't think I'll be using this again."

+ In a moment of crazed insanity, I buy eight bottles of peppermint vanilla hand wash, and uh, yeah, eight is like crazy; what am I going to do with all of these?!

Here's what! Offer them up in the new method market! Do you have some method greatness you'd lust trading, sharing, bartering or simply giving away? Here's the place to do it!

method lust reader Rebecca, and Netta both helped me conceive this idea (Push, Nathan! Push! You can do it! Stop cursing and push! There, I can see the M, that's it! Oh oh, it's a beautiful method market!... Yeah, ok, that's just a bad visual to put into someone's mind, isn't it? Sorry.) Netta had tried out the new sweet water squeaky green laundry detergent recently, and while loving the detergent, didn't like the scent. So she ended up giving it to her sister. While Rebecca realized that peppermint vanilla aroma bead set was just sitting in her closet, and I'd mentioned a couple times on here that I'd lust giving them a try (since I'd never bought one. Bad, Nathan. Bad!)

And so she asked if I'd like it, and sent it to me! Yay! (Just in time for her to receive a brand new one, during a bridal shower! She was SO excited. Yeah.) Well, here were two people that, for one reason or another, had method products they were willing to separate with, and gave two other people a chance to try them out! (And possibly lust them!)

So that's what method market is all about! Here's how it works. There is an image on the sidebar that says method market. Just click that image, and it'll take you to the method market post. In that post, if you happen to have a method product you're wanting to share(give)/trade(barter) post it up. Example:

"Hey everyone! I've got a citrus cilantro candle I'd like to find a new, sweet home for. Any takers? I'm sharing it with you!" or

"Hey everyone! I've got a citrus cilantro candle I'd like to find a new, sweet home for. I'm willing to do a trade!"

Others will check out the method market post, and see what is being offered. And if you see something someone else is offering, that would make a nice trade, you can ask them if they want to trade with you! Or someone may say "Hey, I love citrus cilantro! Would you be interested in a beach sage bloq body wash as a trade?"

OR if you're wanting to simply share(give) it away, someone will be all "Oh oh, citrus cilantro! I'll take that!" and if there are multiple posts wanting the item, you get to choose who gets it. Hey, do a niceness scale, or how many times they use the letter 'm' in their post, or someone's name you like the best. Ha ha! There's no science to it.

Then, you can simply state: "Hey, methodlover2000, I'd be willing to send you my citrus cilantro candle! Here's my email address, email me your address and I'll send it out!"

And then, when the trade/share is done, just let everyone know with a big ole: "Citrus cilantro has a new home! Thanks everyone!" so they know it's not still available in the method market.

+

Whew! Ok, make sense? I think I still explained it too much. - Hopefully not. I think this is a great way to share method items we might not usually get to try, and get to know everyone here on method lust a bit better! What do you think of this idea? Think it'll fly! Lust it? Not so much it? Let's give it a try, and see what happens!

Welcome to the market! (The official method market post is below this one. Think of this post as the "instructions manual." Thanks!)

clean sweeps

+ Peppermint vanilla is coming back for the holidays? Wha? That's the news according to a recent methodtweet twitter announcement! One exception, though, they say it's not going to be available everywhere. More information as I get it! The holidays aren't far away, look for some exciting news on the new method holiday line very soon!

+ Those in the southeast can enjoy a great discount at your local Harris Teeter grocer (I believe they're only in the southeast, but I could be wrong!)Right now, until October 21st, you can get 25% off all method products! That's a great deal! (And I even found a bottle of Eucalyptus Mint foaming hand wash when I was looking! So you might find some surprises, as well as great deals!)

+ method luster Kirby wrote in to say: "I raised a few eyebrows when I just pushed all the beach sage body wash straight into my cart. Yes I'm crazy! Do you have Grocery Outlets in your area?" Only you forgot to mention which grocer, Kirby! Do tell so I can let the others know! Grocery Outlet IS the name of the store chain! I've never heard of it (but wish we had them!) She found a big stash of bloq for only $2.00 each!

+ Concerning the new method smarty dish cubes, I've noticed the Targets that maintain special method aisle sections (where a majority of the method products are all located in one area, instead of their respective cleaning departments) are retaining the smarty dish line; while the Targets that simply had them on their endcaps during the debut, have discontinued them, and are not going to be carrying the cubes. SO, if you have a special method section in your Target, you should be safe on the dish cubes!
