last chance lowe's

Whoa! I headed into my local Lowe's Hardware today during lunch, and oh how I wished I'd checked up on their latest lot of method clearance items weeks earlier! Cause I missed out on some good buys! But you may just get lucky (really lucky!) if you head into your Lowe's and find the following (these were the prices at my North Carolina Lowe's - I'm sure prices vary depending on your state, country, or planet:)

+ omop $12.77 (Ugh! How did I miss this deal?! Oh woe is me...)
+ omop microfiber cloths (wood and all-floor) $1.99
+ free + clear and sweet water squeaky green laundry detergent $4.88
+ water lily + aloe fabric softener $2.50
+ lavender cleaning wipes $1.99

Get them while the gettin' is good! (Or uh, all gone, in my case. But my Maneki Neko says "Better luck for you!") Yeah, you heard that right.

o'no?

I decided to take a little strolly-stroll down my nearby Lowe's Hardware today, after lunch - just to see what was what in the method section, and if they still carried the lavender dish soap and eucalyptus mint tub + tile cleaner (the answers are double yes!) But while doing all that (and balancing a ball upon my head, just because you know I like to multi-task like nobody's business!) I came upon a possibly sad sight.

It looks like Lowe's is clearancing out the method Omop! Including the wood and all-floor microfiber cleaning cloths. The sweeper dusters are not on clearance however, but those could be used for multiple purposes (such as dusting cloths throughout the house, etc.) Now, this is just speculation for the time being, but I'm not feeling too good about the ole' Omop at this point. I know, I know, it hasn't been without it's kinks (or snaps, and breaks, mind you.) But what with Target having also clearanced that baby out, like a year or more ago, it leaves people's Omop options very limited - possibly only to the methodhome.com online store! (Does anyone else know if it's available in other retail stores? I haven't seen it anywhere, myself... And yes, I should know this. This is method lust, after all. But hey, I'm not the method God. Ok? I don't know all, as much as I pretend to let on that I do! Ha ha!)

In fact, over on their method Facebook page, an advocate recently asked:

"Do you still have the mop? I can't find refills at my Target anymore! Help!" to which they responded "Lowe's Hardware, or the method online store." So, I guess I might just be a method God after all!

+

In fact, I'm noticing an interesting trend in method lately? Perhaps, just perhaps, they're slowly discontinuing all non-explicit cleaning products (is that the proper usage of explicit, if not, eh, you know what I'm trying to get at!) The microfiber cleaning cloths have slowly been disappearing from store shelves (you know, the ones that were for glass, granite, wood, etc.) In fact, you can't even order them on the methodhome.com site any longer. The aircare went bye-bye (and it had many non-cleaning components, such as the plug-in, and the ring, ceramic oil diffuser, glass bowls, etc.) Now (might) the Omop also be poised for method Heaven?

Have we reached a point where method is trying to simplify its product line to where if it isn't a liquid-based cleaning product, it's out? While this does sound more green-friendly, it also sends people to their competition (as people will have to buy swiffers, and other cleaning cloths, aircare products, etc.)

Do you think this would be a good, or a bad thing? Keep in mind the Omop thing is just speculation at this point (but again, as far as I'm concerned, it ain't lookin' too good.)

target a go-go

Well, everyone has been asking method what's up with the apparent lack of replenishment when it comes to their favorite dish soap being carried by Target! Many Target stores appear to be out, empty shelves, crying for more cute colored bottles! People just can't find their dishy suds! And with method announcing (via their recent Q&A chat session on Inc.com) a new dish soap in their lighthouse/laundry shaped bottle, the answers have finally been revealed!

Target has placed all the current method dish soap (mine still has it on the shelves) on clearance! And I gotta tell you (don't get all freaked out yet, as I don't know the answer) but I'm not sure if the current scents (cucumber, lavender and pink grapefruit) will make the move over to the new line, or not. From the pics we've seen, I'd say we can definitely expect one new scent! Other than that tidbit of knowledge, time will tell. method said we could expect to see the new detergent in September, but with Target already clearancing the current version out, I'd guess it might be more like mid-August!

Now, along with Target clearancing out the dish soap, they're also clearing out the go-naked gel hand wash, and all the multi-surface cleaning wipes! I'm not sure if we're about to see a new line of wipes as well, or if Target is just finished carrying them!

More information to come, don't ya know! In the meantime, I'd stock up just in case, OR there is always Lowe's Hardware for your method dish soap needs, until the new line hits the shelves!

clean sweeps

+ This is so cool! (I wish I lived in New York! Oh wait, I wish that whether method's there or not! But alas...) Via method's people against dirty blog:

"exciting news! we’re teaming up with Goodwill Industries to offer new yorkers an easy way to spring clean their closets for a good cause with our ‘wash smart, give smart’ clothing donation truck in nyc from may 13 – 15. we don't have any pictures yet, but there will be a mobile laundry room housed in a glass truck that will appear at specific locations, allowing people to drop off new and gently worn clothing. we’ll take care of washing all items before delivering them to several Goodwill locations in new york to be resold.

thursday, may 13
10 AM – 6 PM
soho-- broadway between houston + prince

friday, may 14
10 AM – 6 PM
union square

saturday, may 15
11 AM – 7 PM
herald square -- 35th st. between 6th + broadway

passers-by are encouraged to spontaneously donate an item of clothing off their bodies, and the first 200 people who donate items each day will receive a free 25-load bottle of method laundry detergent. there will also be a photo station, samples, games and prizes, plus a few special guest appearances.

this is part of a bigger ‘laundry smarts’ movement we’re launching to encourage people to re-think and improve the way they do laundry. stay tuned, more to come!"

Ohh, it sounds so awesome! And I'm lovin' the "part of a bigger laundry smart' movement" with even more surprises on the way! And uh, yeah, a glass truck! I repeat, a glass truck!

+ I headed on over to Babys R' Us this weekend (or rather the small section in my local Toys R' Us) and found the new baby products in sweet pea and crisp apple. Here's hoping they make the crisp apple in "adult" scent, cause it was YUMMY! As for the sweet pea, it was as others have described it, a very light rice milk + mallow scent. I personally could smell more baby powder in this variation (but then again I can smell a light baby powder fragrance in the almond wood for good, so either I've got a very nifty nose, or I'm insane. Who knows?)

But I found another product that isn't even listed on the Babys R' Us site! It's a spray cleaner for your baby/kids room, called Play Clean, and is also in the sweet pea scent (though the bottle doesn't mention it as such, it has no fragrance listed, but you can tell it's the same.)

Has anyone tried these new scents? Thoughts?

+ Missing your favorite aircare products? Well, right now (not sure for how long, I'm guessing it depends on the amount of their remaining supply) you can still find the aroma pills (and I think the rings, I can't guarantee that at the moment) at your local Lowe's Hardware! Unfortunately they aren't refills, but rather the starter kits (pill with refill, etc.) but no matter, if you're already going into aircare withdrawal, this might help tide you over! Lowe's hasn't discontinued the line within their stores as of yet, so they're still full price. But as Lowe's supply dwindles, they'll start running out, so snatch some up while you still can!

(And while you're there, don't forget they're one of the only retail stores that still carries eucalyptus mint foaming hand wash!)

you've just hit the jackpot, tiger!

method lust reader Josh hits the jackpot in finding the new laundry detergent at his local Lowe's! Thanks for the pic, Josh!

If you find the laundry detergent near you, snap a shot and send it to me! I'll put it up on method lust - promise!

clean sweeps

+ I'm a little concerned about the availability of method lately. Many of us have complained about how Target seems to just continue shrinking down their method product line from store shelves (such a stupid move, mind you!); and Target has been their biggest provider for quite a long time. Luckily, Lowe's Hardware got into the game, and while I'm not sure, I'm betting Lowe's and Target are probably the two retail stores where you can find the largest range of method products. In fact, we got a Lowe's a while back in my hometown (tiny town, let me tell you!) and mom was really excited about the huge end cap of method products! This was her chance to start purchasing them herself, as we don't have a Target (shock!)

So just yesterday, my family has come to Greensboro for Thanksgiving, and we were roaming Target (of course) and mom asked me about method, and mentioned the selection at her Lowe's store was pretty much non-existent at this point. And I've noticed this as well, earlier this year my local Lowe's had two big end caps full of method goodies! They've reduced this all down to one lonely end cap now! What's the deal? And I'm starting to receive emails from many advocates complaining about how these retail stores are removing their favorite method products, and asking what exactly is going on?

Are you noticing this at your local Target, or Lowe's stores?

+ Continuing my (apparently) downer method posts today (which I really don't mean to do!) well, my omop handle broke. Again. I straight up know even the method advocacy team is fed up with those omops. LOL Sadly! I LUST my omop, but really, truly, they need to take that thing in for a design upgrade. What was really weird is, usually the 'o' handle will just snap right off. But this time it cracked off, but had some weird thick flexible plastic around the whole handle, so it "stayed on" but you really can't mop with it, as it just sorta flops back and forth. Ha ha!

Luckily for me, I snagged up an extra one during my big method weekend with Danny Seo and Rachel Goldberg; so I'm not without an omop! But I wish I'd snagged a few more, as I know it's only a matter of time (I swear this is like omop #5 or 6 for me.)method, make the freakin' handle out of metal, like the pole is, and be done with it. It doesn't even need to be in an 'o' shape (though I get that would cause name confusion, but alas.) Whatever the case, I seriously love the omop (so don't get rid of it!), but it's TIME for a redesign.

one more for the road

You didn't actually think I was finished, did you? Oh no. My intention is to become a bigger internet sensation than Susan Boyle! So let the backlash begin! (Because with internet sensation, is always fan backlash! We have such a short love/hate time frame nowadays, you know? I think everyone is secretly A.D.D. Let's just blame it all on MTV, ok? "MTV, what's that?" "I know, I know...")

Honestly, I was thinking against posting this. Me + video = scariness. Seriously. I hate photos of me, so don't even get me started on video. And I am the worst when a question is thrown at me on the spot. Oh trust me, you'll agree once you see me answer these questions! Ha ha! But alas, I decided to post it anyway. So enjoy the train wreck, ok? And experience my big method post first hand!

more me

Trust me, ok. I'm so not this vain! I know by now you're all just so tired of hearing about ME and my VISIT with METHOD! (Did I mention lately I was was visited by method?! No, well, let me just tell you!...) I mean, sometimes even I get sick of myself. I'll wake up and walk into the bathroom, look into the mirror and be all "You?! Again! Word, can't you just leave me alone for one minute! I don't need a shadow! Well, I do, or if I didn't, that might mean I was dead, and that would really suck, cause I'm like phobia style scared of death; but still, just give me some space, ok! It's not you, it's me. No, actually, it is you!" and then I'll pause, and remember what my therapist said about self love (no not that kind of self love!) and I'll stick post-it notes on the mirror that say things like "I heart you" and "you're great" and "let's be best friends" and "Is that a new shirt? It looks snazzy on you!" and stop being all mean to myself. At least until the steam from the showers finally causes the post-it notes to fall from the mirror, then the vicious cycle starts all over...

Y'ok! Well, but listen. I just had to let you know, Danny Seo (method's Healthy Home 'co-conspirator'! Oh, you already knew that, now didn't you) wrote up a short and sweet post on his recent trip to ole' North Carolina (and his visit with me! Hey, did I tell you about that?) But hey, forget about me for a moment (how is that even possible? I know, I know...) but he goes on to mention the Lowe's Hardware corporate headquarters, and how amazing they are. And yes...

...they are amazing! Hey, who'd like to go sell lumber with me? Man, this place is beautiful! And a cafeteria with organic/vegetarian/etc. food options, and wow!

Check out the complete post (with more Lowe's pics!) over on Daily Danny!

clean sweeps

+ method's new citrus leaf dilutable cleaner is starting to pop up at Target stores! It will be stocked with the floorcare (well, at least at my Target!) With an insanely great price of only $2.99!

+ There are some new polls up! Word, that took forever! This time around it's all scents, scents, scents! (And your favorite method line!) Go at it, vote! It's your democratic duty! (That and, I just don't want to end up with empty polls!)

oh.my.word.

Uhm, yeah, ok. So who might be in this photo? Well, could it be none other than 1) Rachel Goldberg, method's Squire of Scoop; 2) sorta like, me, method lust guy; and 3) Danny Seo, method's Healthy Home 'co-conspirator'! Yeah, I've got a BIG blog post coming this weekend, get ready!
