UPDATE I forgot to mention (and then method luster Sabrina reminded me!) I also found method glass, granite, and stainless steel microfiber cleaning cloths at Big Lots! I (believe, but I can't exactly remember) they were $2.50. Add'em to your Big Lots shopping list!

So yeah, you might all need to sit down for this one. No no, but seriously. I'll wait. Take your time. No rush. Ok. Seated? Good. Cause I got some big news for ya!

Big Lots has method bloq! Yes, yes, here are the smelling salts in case you start feeling lightheaded! Cause I'm talking bloq, from like what, two years ago?! In glorious green mint, beach sage, waterflower and citron leaf scents! In creamy body wash, shaving cream, lotion, and soap bars! At Big Lots! For one dollar each! One dollar?! Can you even comprehend that!? No, I didn't think so, cause neither can I! But it's true, I've had multiple method lusters let me know (thanks Jamison, and thanks for the pics, Jon!) And well yeah, I've discovered this for myself! In fact, I think they had to pick me up off the Big Lots floor after I turned the corner and saw those blocky square bottles just sitting there on the shelves!

"Where have you been?! Why did you leave me! It's been so long, so very very long! It's like, one day you just up and leave, and barely say goodbye (ok, well, you did throw that goodbye party, but still, I'm bitter, ok?!) and then you just what, you just go and take a two year trip to travel the Nile?! Or climb Mount Everest?! Or sit in some dark, dingy, warehouse? I mean, what is that all about! Then you reappear and pretend like nothing happened! "Hey, here I am! And I'm super cheap, too! Just cause, you know!" And I'm supposed to take you back in my arms, and love you like I once did, with no hurt feelings?!"

Ok, you got it! Now get in my cart! All of you. (Go. Big Lots! Now! bloq!)

it's citrus, miss cilantro is you're nasty

Look what I found at my local Big Lots last night! They've gotten some citrus cilantro aroma rings in! Looks like the method products continue to trickle into the stores! I'm going to do some more Big Lots loitering this weekend, and see what I can see!

I also noticed on one of method's lastest twitter methodtweets they mentioned to an advocate lusting for some more beach sage bloq lotion (and not being able to find it at Target. Hello, how long has bloq been discontinued? Do these people not roam up and down the method aisles each and every time they go to their local Target!? Do they not sniff, and re-sniff all the scents anytime they see a method bottle, even though by now they know what they smell like in their sleep?! Are they not obsessed to a degree that's simply not right?! I mean, that sounds crazily sane! What's up with these people? And how can I get some of what they're drinking, cause really, I need help... no, really. Help me, please. I had another method dream last night. Don't even get me started. The big method boss (I don't remember who it was, it was a "dream boss") was firing me from method, even though I didn't work for method (not even in the dream! Ha ha!) even after I helped them all look for some method products in this crazy warehouse, but they had to cut corners; but then I said something profound to him, and he realized there was no way he could lose my utter genius, so he unfired me from being fired from a position I was never hired to! Yay! Ah dreams... I remember my family came up to me in my dream, on the side of the street (cause that's where you always meet your family, just roaming the streets.) And they were trying to talk to me and I was all like "Psh, psh! I'm on the phone with method! Can't talk now!" oh, where was I? Oh yes.)

...to possibly check their local Big Lots. Now, I'm not sure about you, but I have yet to see any bloq products pop up at Big Lots; so either it's was simply a suggestion not necessarily based on current fact (did you like that sentence? I did, it sounds very lawyer-y, doesn't it! Ok, ok, anyway...) OR perhaps they know something we don't, and bloq products could be hitting our Big Lots shelves very soon! Time will tell!

well, well, wash!

Guess what I found today? (I bet the pic to the right sort of gives it away a bit, doesn't it?) I was roaming my friendly Ross today (a store in the same retail vein asTJMaxx, and Marshalls ) and, while realizing they NEVER have any good finds in the body department (seriously, they've always lacked badly in that dept.) I decided to stumble over there anyway. You know, a good five minutes still to waste before I had to head back to work.

And what do I see, sitting there all alone? One little bottle of method green mint bloq body wash! Can you believe it?! I've never seen method at Ross (or TJMaxx, or Marshalls, for that matter!) I was so surprised! I ALMOST bought it. But you know, it was $2.99, still a great price; but after my .69 cents per bottle craziness at Goodwill while it lasted, $2.99 seemed downright insane! Oh, plus I have like seven bottles still in the ole' method vault. THOUGH I'm tempted to go back, mind you. I'm going to head out to the Ross near my house and see if they happen to have any method hiding in the shadows! I'll let you know if I spy any!

Alright, so I made my final method bloq Goodwill trip today. I'm done! (I'm actually just cutting myself off, cause it's really just ridiculous, ok? HOW obsessed am I? No, but seriously...) as you'll recall, I found a big bunch of method bloq body washes and shaving creams a while back at my sorta local Goodwill, and purchased some up. And then went back. And went back again. And one more time. But that was it. Until today, when I went back again.

In all honesty, I've purchased quite a few for my friends and family. In fact I just purchased friend'o Sam some method bloq green mint body bars during this latest trip. He'll like those! I've already gotten him into the wash. (Gotta transition him over to the marine naturals refresh mint when it debuts!)

But I now have enough bloq body wash and shaving cream (all green mint here people! LUST it!) to last me... one year. Groan! That's just sad! But I couldn't help it, it's an addiction (and a GREAT price!) So today I went to purchase four more bottles of the wash, to make it last a year; and I said I was done! The end. No more.

Cause you know, no matter how many bottles of my green mint bloq I buy, I'll still run out one day. It's real sad to say, but oh so true. So stop hoarding, Nathan. Be brave. Hold your head up high! And move confidently into your body wash future, knowing that method has it well in hand! (And leg, and arm, and face, and... get it? Har.)

While making my purchase, and sliding them into my reusable tote, the cashier admitted she loves the stuff as well, and even though it says "body wash" when they run out of hand wash in the Goodwill bathrooms, they just grab a bottle and place it in the bathroom to wash your hands! She said it does just as good a job on your hands, as your body. Imagine that!

So last night I'm all excited to give my new waterflower bloq body wash a try (cause uh, you guessed it, I have NO life), having never previously purchased this scent! I squeeze some out, get ready to lather it over my face, start to spread it in my hands, and I'm like:

"GAH?! Wha? It's all gritty? What the crap! I swear, this is why I never buy personal care products at Goodwill! I bet someone put something in this... oh, man, what did they put in this? Well, it could just be sand. Maybe some trickster decided to fill this with a little sand. Figures that the ONE bottle of all the bottles I pick up was screwed with! I swear... well, maybe it's just on the top and I can squeeze it all out."

So I start doing that, a little squeeze at a time, test the texture, still gritty. About four squeezes in, I go, "what is going on here? and I look at the side of the bottle. In tiny print it says "exfoliator + olive oil." DING DING! What the heck? You know, they should have promoted that better on the bottles, I bet some people would have bought that especially for the exfoliant; as all three other scents did not have this property. At any rate, I was relieved, and tried it out! Hey, I like it! Nice and subtle.

Did anyone else have this experience, or uh, were you smarter than me? Go on, you can tell the truth. Oh, and one thing we forget, the bloq line is STILL available for purchase on the method home site! So don't be left out (until the new marine naturals line debuts in August! More on that very soon!)

holy green mint, batman!

Ah'kay. So sometimes during work lunch, I like to head over to the OTHER side of town (and in this case, OTHER = scary, not so nice to be in, far far away so just driving uses up all my lunch hour but I'm bored and can't bear to go to Target one more day + side of town.) But that's where all the thrift stores in this town are. So I decided to head on over to Goodwill, as I've become a ridiculous addict of retro Christmas and jazz vinyl! So in I go, looking around, check out the tiny tiny vinyl area, gah, nothing. Poo. What a wasted trip. Well, after vinyl there's always the nick nack section! So I turn around towards the nick nack area, and suddenly it's like a giant meteor smashes through the ceiling, and a huge hole showers golden sunshine down from the Heavens, and spotlights a huge rack of...

(ok, there is no suspense here, cause uh, I've used the photo you see above. But fake it, ok!) method bloq! OK! We're not talking a couple bottles of body wash. OH no. We're not talking one lonely bottle like I found at my nearby Goodwill next to where I live. We're talking at LEAST one hundred fifty (I so counted the number in a row, then the rows.) bloq body washes; and I bet, over fifty boxes of bloq bar soaps! HOLY!

AND... as if this wasn't a miracle within itself. I wander over, check them out, and two things: one, every bottle has the method name black magic markered for some reason (boo! I'm a packaging wh*re, ok?) But, I lick my finger lightly, rub over, BOOM, off it comes perfectly. NO way. Two, they're priced at $2.50 a bottle. Not the best Goodwill deal, you say? BUT, they have another sticker on the other side of the bottle (to confuse you a bit, I say.) And what does it say?

.69 cents.

Did that sink in yet? sixty nine wha? sixty nine huh? sixty nine what'chu talkin' bout, Willis?! I manage to find ONE shaving cream, in a totally different section of the store (in the "green section." Goodwill likes to color separate everything. Yeah, don't go there.) But it was a bit messy, and priced at $1.99. I asked if it was .69 cents like all the body wash, but she gave some weird (uh, no. It's week three and those are week five, and by week nine it'll be half the price of week two. Or something like that? Huh?) so I passed (crazy I know, but: Nathan is CHEAP! Cause Nathan is POOR!)

But, I found a gas station selling $3.85 gas! Ok, who every thought I'd be EXCITED to find $3.85 gas. Sigh...

So that trip ROCKED! I ended up buying four green mint body washes, and one waterflower body wash. I've never bought the waterflower, so I figured I'd give it a try! AND I just might go back. When I find these kind of crazy deals, I literally want to buy up every last one of them, and give them out to everyone! All my friends! All my method lust readers! Whee! But I can't. Cause, well, rinse and repeat: Nathan is CHEAP! Cause Nathan is POOR!

So I stepped into Goodwill this past Saturday, looking around as I usually do (I'm sorta addicted. Oh there's a surprise, Nathan's addicted to something. Or rather, a lot of somethings.) And JUST as I'm about finished, I start to leave the "housewares section" and laying on it's side, on top of an organ (no joke!) with a couple other oddities that looked like someone was considering purchasing them at one time (but hopefully left them behind, cause uh, I done took it!) was ONE method green mint (how coincidental!) bloq body wash! ONE! Only one in the entire store! How weird.

I went up to purchase it (oh and for some freakin' reason here in ole' North Carolina, at least Greensboro, Goodwill thinks it's some TJMaxx or something, the prices they have are usually crazy. And not in a good way. I'm like, $10. for bowl?! What the crap? Cause another method lust reader found hers for a mere .99 cents! But mine was $1.99. Either I'm cheap, or Goodwill has gotten greedy. Cause the Salvation Army down the street is usually rolling in really great "yard sale" prices!) Anyway, I asked the lady at the counter if she'd seen these here, or knew of any more, and she had no clue. So perhaps they'll get more in, or this was just my lucky find.

And I hope this doesn't come out wrong, but uh, does anyone else here feel weird about buying body care products at a Goodwill? Just curious...

They had the soaps and the bodywashes. Just in Beach Sage and oooh, whatever the pink one is (Citron Leaf). I did check for you, no mint, sorry."

I've also noticed a couple Goodwills carrying Target products from time to time (I actually found two method cinnamon bark aroma rings post-Christmas at Goodwill) and I shall be running over there after work today! Yay! Thanks Rebecca for the heads-up! Hopefully they will have some green mint (as there was a ton of it left over at Target, before it all got pulled.) Go, run, Goodwill, now! (Why are you still at work? Oh oh, right, that whole not wanting to get fired thing. I know, I know. Shh, I won't tell them you read method lust during work. It's our little secret.)

UPDATE Looks like they're GONE! I went to two Targets yesterday, and it appears all of the bloq body care line has been boxed up and shipped out. I'm thinking they'll be appearing at closeout retailers soon (such as Big Lots, etc.) Our two Targets still had tons of the body wash available on 50% clearance; I was waiting to see if it made it to 75%, but no go. You know, excluding the Holiday line, I don't know if I've ever seen method hit 75% off. I think it always goes to closeout retailers. So I'm hoping to find them at my local Big Lots in a few months! I did pick up six bloq body washes (in green mint!) so that will actually hold me til the new Marine Naturals line in August, but still...! So just thought I'd let everyone know.

Target currently has the method bloq body wash on clearance for $2.98 each! - 50% off! They also have the method bloq bar soaps for I think $2.48 a box. The body lotion was discontinued months before the entire line went to clearance; so it's no longer available. (Though happily, all are still currently available on the method home site!)

Ok, so I just stopped by my local Target tonight (yes, I realize I seriously need some therapy, ok? But see, I realize this. That's gotta be a step in the right direction, right? Right?) and the bloq personal care shaving cream has now been put on clearance. Early the rest of the line had been discontinued, but we were hoping the shaving cream might stick around. Just thought I'd let everyone know.

quick bits

A brand new personal care line is just a few weeks away! It's called moisture lounge, and uh, that's all I know at the moment. But the minute I get more information, including what is in the line, and photos; I'll blog about them! Also, another personal care line is expected in addition to this one, currently called marine naturals - it will be available in August. Again, more on that particular item later this year. But I hope to get information on the moisture lounge line soon! Until then, go stock up on the bloq body line!

Ok everyone, you might want to be sitting down for this one. This is gonna hurt...

I went on one of my Target trips today during lunch, and noticed that, sigh, the method bloq body wash and bars are being clearanced. Many of you have taken note of the fact that the lotion went away a couple of months ago, and it's with a heavy heart and lots of antidepressant medication that I say to you, the body wash/bars are following suit. The only remaining non-discontinued item in the bloq line at Target as of this moment is the shaving cream.

Discontinued, you say? But you just said clearanced, nothing about discontinued? Well, the reason for the bloq items being clearanced is a brand new personal care line is due later this year (and if you'll also notice, they've been on sale on the method home site for a while now; buy 3, save 10%; buy 5 or more, save 15%. The sale is still ongoing, so check it out!) Now, I thought later this year would have meant in the third or fourth quarter (anywhere from July - December.) But this clearance has surprised even me!

Surely we won't be without our method body line for such a long period of time? Previous rumors (posted earlier on method lust) suggested a new baby personal care line might be coming out in April. Perhaps the wires were crossed, and a new adult personal care line will be premiering then/or in addition to? I'll look into this further and see what new information I can attain. Until then, stock up! I will most definitely be doing so! I LOVE the green mint, and hate to see it go! I'd almost hope that scent would be making it into the new personal care line, but method has, up until now at least, not been big about carrying scents from previous to new lines (with a few exceptions, but very few.)

Hopefully the new personal care line will carry hair care (shampoo and conditioner) as this is currently the most requested new method item (according to our method lust poll, check it out on the sidebar!) More news as it becomes available!

Just thought I'd let you know Target is clearancing out all of method's bloq body lotion. Also being clearanced at Target, in the bloq line is the waterflower scented body wash.

I myself am a big fan of the bloq body line from method, and LOVE the green mint scent! The line includes shaving cream, body lotion, body wash and body soap bars. I've gotten a little information as to why the body lotion is being clearanced out at Target, and will post it when I'm given the thumbs up from my wonderfully special inside method source.

UPDATE: I've noticed the waterflower body wash is only being clearanced at select Targets, and I'm not sure why that is.
