keepin' it comin'!

Even more new (or perhaps, for one, newish!) goodies have popped up, method style! method luster Jeff let me know via email and the pic below that he just found method laundry detergent in water lily + aloe at his local Whole Foods! Whoa! That's an old school scent making a comeback, peeps! method used to have water lily + aloe detergent a long, long time ago! Looks like they were fond of the scent! Not sure if It's a Whole Foods exclusive, but you can also purchase it on method's online shop! (One thing I did notice is the lavender + cedar 50 load is now missing from their shop. I'm hoping they haven't discontinued it! I lust me some lavender + cedar! And the bigger, the better! The 25 load is still showing, though. So that's good news!)

Along with that, while roaming around in Earthfare this weekend (a store similar to Whole Foods, and Fresh Market, etc.) I stumbled upon method squirt and mop floor cleaner in ginger yuzu! I've never seen ginger yuzu scent in this product! Now, I know Whole Foods holds most of the exclusive ginger yuzu method products (spray cleaner, dish soap, etc.) so this may also be a part of that line, and Earthfare just happens to also carry it? (And, that's the only method item Earthfare carries!? method, get on this!) I asked why this was the case to the store manager, but he didn't really have much of an answer besides "shelf space" (sure didn't seem to keep Mrs. Meyers and Seventh Gen. from taking up a huge area of the shelves!) You can also purchase this floor cleaner on method's site, as well!

get yer basil, hazel

Looking for the basil (and ginger yuzu) dish soap in the new pump bottles? They have yet to hit store shelves (I was thinking they might end up being exclusive to a store, as ginger yuzu currently is at Whole Foods) but method let me know you can snatch them up on their methodhome.com shop now! It's priced at $3.99 (plus shipping.)

sneak peek - dish soap

A quick sneak peek shot at the two remaining dish soap scents (ginger yuzu and basil) yet to hit store shelves! Expectations are for them to appear in grandiose style mid-September! But until then, just look and drool! Look, and drool. (Ok, well, your computer might not like the drool, so maybe just look.)

dishing the dirt!

method has recently announced their new dish soap and anti-bac line, and the news is BIG! So big in fact, the products will start hitting Target shelves today/this week! First, the new dish soap scents will be clementine, sea minerals, cucumber, and two "natural exclusive fragrances" (what that may mean exactly, I'm not sure. I think these will match up with their new upcoming kitchen hand wash line) in basil (yum!) and ginger yuzu.

In the anti-bacterial line (which states "Kills 99.9% of household germs botanically",) two all purpose spray cleaners in lemon verbena and spearmint (both, wow! Yum!) and all purpose wipes in lemon verbana. The dish soap will stay at $2.99 at Target locations, and the spray cleaner and wipes will also be $2.99. Look for the naturals (basil and ginger yuzu) dish soap to hit stores in September, when I would also place a big bet on the new kitchen hand wash line showing up.

Now for some mixed news. All the old dish soap has been discontinued. No more lavender or pink grapefruit. (I love the lavender, so I'm really disappointed; and I'm totally shocked they canned the pink grapefruit, since people seem to pee their pants over that scent. No really, someone told me once they peed their pants over that scent. You think I'd just make this stuff up? Never!)

The biggest, and possibly controversial news comes in the wipes area. All of their multi-purpose wipes (in go naked, lavender, and pink grapefruit - uhm, I think that's all the scents they come in) are being discontinued, and the new anti-bac wipes will replace these. So, if you want to use all purpose method wipes, you have to use the anti-bacterial variety now. I really, really want everyone's thoughts on this, since even though it's by method (and naturally derived) many people still have big concerns about anti-bacterial products.

So there you go! Now it's your turn! Thoughts, opinions? Rants, raves?

squeeze me, please me

tada! method is releasing a new scent to their floorcare line! You can now get your squirt + mop floor cleaner in ginger yuzu! At first I was really worried this was going to replace the lemon ginger (which is a no contest in my book! Lemon ginger wins big time!) But the ginger yuzu is an expanding part of their exclusive Whole Foods line. Whole Foods also carries dish soap and spray cleaner in ginger yuzu. method also mentions this can be found at select natural grocery stores.

I'm not a ginger yuzu hater (really! That's what I stock the work bathrooms with! Ginger yuzu hand wash!) but does ANYONE else think it smells nothing like ginger, and everything like pineapple? Cause to me, it's pineapple scent. Ha ha!

sea what's new for you

UPDATE Just found out officially from method that sea minerals multi-surface cleaner will be available at Target, and it started hitting the stores yesterday! So be on the lookout! (I checked today cause well, I'm nuts! But didn't see any!) Let us know if you find some! (And what you think!)

+

Are you ready? Cause method's got a new multi-surface cleaning spray scent on the way! Well... not really "new" but still. Sea minerals is coming to multi-surface! method says:

"This is (a rendering) of our newest all purpose spray scent ... sea minerals! It has been so popular as a hand wash scent we decided that our "people against dirty" might want to clean their homes with it as well."

What do you think? Excited? I gotta say, I'm not really a big sea minerals fan, but apparently there are lots of them! So I should just keep my mouth shut. Do you like sea minerals? Would you rather method whip up new scents, or reuse your favorites in different products? I'll be really curious to see if this scent replaces one of the four mainstays; or is in addition to; OR is a store exclusive (as is their ginger yuzu multi-surface cleaner, sold at Whole Foods.) I'll let you know as I get more information. Not sure when we should expect this to hit the stores, either. To be continued!

clean sweeps

+ Sniff. Sniff. Ok, so I got a prized bottle of the new multi-surface ginger yuzu cleaning spray recently (Yay!); and decided to hold off on using it until this spring/summer, as it's just such a summery, pineappley (to me, anyway!) scent! I do crazy things like this, that's why people think I'm well, weird. Cause, I am. But, I also decided this weekend to whip the bottle out and clean the bathroom with it, to get a chance to try it out! So I cleaned the bathroom all bright and shiny; carried a few (I ALWAYS end up carrying too many things at once, you'd think I'd learn, no?) of my cleaning items back into the kitchen, where I store them, and SLIP, I dropped my ginger yuzu bottle! Oh well, I've dropped my method bottles many a time, right? It'll just bounce and wait for me to pick it up, gently caress it, tell it I'm so very sorry, give it a little kiss on the nozzle, and off to la-la land it goes under the counter (I know, I know! method, under the counter! But I can't show off ALL my method, or I wouldn't have room for anything else, you know?! Oh, wait, that's not what you're making that face about? It's about the caressing and kissing, and... I already told you, I'm weird, ok?!)

But it fell to the floor, and SNAP! the entire head of the bottle, as in entire, cracked right off, and precious ginger yuzu cleaner went spilling all over the floor! NO! I picked it up as quickly as I could, but still had a lot of the spray cleaner puddled all over the floor. I ended up mopping it up, and cleaning the kitchen floor, so it smelled all ginger yuzu/pineappley! But I was so sad for my bottle. Right now the remains are living in an old lavender bottle. But it's just not the same, you know? The entire top cracked off, where the spray nozzle connects with the bottle (I guess the neck?) Has this ever happened to you? I'm curious!

+ For those lucky few that might still find a few method candles in the ceramic jars at their local Big Lots (like me! They still have a few left. I picked up four more fig candles this weekend! Yes! Oh figgy figgy goodness!) It seems like while the price on the jar still says $4.00, it actually rings up at $3.50 now! (Since they've had them for like, ever! I guess they knocked a few off.) So hey, not a bad savings! Pick'em up, while you still can! (PS - We have yet to get any of the dish cubes. Sigh. Man, what I wouldn't give for some lavender dish cubes! Ah well, I guess it isn't meant to be.)

Oh, and speaking of method ceramic jar candles, right now they're all 30% off on their method home site! The sale goes until the end of February!

yuzu for you!

Take a closer look at the new Ginger Yuzu dish soap, and multi-purpose spray cleaner! (And no, they don't normally come with bubbles! They got a little shook up in transit, but I was too impatient to wait for the bubbles to die down before I took the photos!)

The scent is exactly the same as the Ginger Yuzu hand wash (which was discontinued quite a while ago.) I always think it smells very pineappley, to me. Which isn't a bad thing, mind you! Very summery. You can also see they've redesigned the dish soap bottle a bit, with a giant colored circle around the "belly button" (that place you put your thumb when using the bottle, so it doesn't slip out of your hands!) and a color bar up the front! Not sure if they're going to extend this to the rest of their dish soap line, but I'd bet on it if I were me! And I am, so I'm betting yes!

The new Ginger Yuzu dish soap and multi-purpose spray cleaner is currently exclusively available at Whole Foods stores nationwide (or however wide Whole Foods extends itself. I'm not really sure, to be honest!) So if you've got one near you, run out and pick up a couple bottles! (And if you don't, well, you need not cry in the corner. No, no, go on, show the world your sorrow, cause I understand! I feel your Whole Foods/methodless pain! Let it all out! Don't hold back! Here, have my shoulder. Now now, doesn't that feel much better, yes, yes, it does.)

ginger yuzu makes a comeback!

Big news for ginger yuzu (and wet dryer sheet) fans! Seems like the once relegated to hand wash scent is making a comeback at Whole Foods! And they are also beginning to carry a large line of method's laundry products! I received two, count'em, two emails tonight with the breaking news!

Reader Melane said: "We were at Whole Foods the other day and they had an odd collection of Method, including some old school stuff, but what was nice was that they had the wet dryer cloths. (And) they had a $1 coupon in their flyer specifically for Whole Foods that showed a new version of Method cleaner and dish detergent, but we couldn't seem to find that anywhere."

and luster Rhonda also let me know: "I just saw Ginger Yuzu dishwash and all purpose spray at Whole Foods. They also had the full line of laundry stuff- I have been looking for those dryer sheets forever!"

So cool! I'm not sure if these new ginger yuzu items will be available in Target stores, as well as other shops that carry method; or if this is a Whole Foods only item (which I'm sorta hoping it's not, simply because the closest Whole Foods to me is like, an hour and a half away! Darn you Earthfare and Fresh Market, why won't you carry method products?!? Darn you!) So be on the lookout for these new items, and Melane, let us know what other old school items you discovered! I'm really curious! This might be worth an hour and half trip to Whole Foods! I'll post more pics as soon as I receive them!

+

Also, in more grocery store news, while roaming the aisles at my local Harris Teeter (and right before my truck decided to die on me, resulting in a tow job to the nearest Goodyear. Gonna be late to work tomorrow! Unless it snows a lot tonight! (It's supposed to snow here tonight, cross your fingers for me! We never see snow in these here parts!) I stumbled upon a great deal! Again, they have a variety of method products currently on sale; but the big one was, buy one spray cleaner (lavender or pink grapefruit) get one free! And the price was only $3.99 (a mere .70 cents more than Target! Harris Teeter is sort of an uppity grocery store, so higher prices are sorta expected. But I didn't think that was too bad!) Two bottles of lavender spray cleaner for $2.00 each, ya can't beat that deal! So go, pick up all these goodies, send me pics, lust some method, and have at it!

What do you think? Are you excited method has put ginger yuzu into dish wash and spray cleaner? Let us know! Personally, I think it's about time we saw a little shake-up in the spray cleaner/dish soap line. It's been the same four scents forever! Yay!

clean sweeps!

+ Big Lots blowout! If you haven't taken a trip to your local Big Lots lately, do! It looks like method (or whoever sends these things out? I'm not sure...) has done a big new shipment! Lusters from all over are finding all sorts of method greatness! In fact, I decided to head out this weekend, and found a slew (I'm talkin' slew!) of ginger yuzu hand wash in gel and foaming varieties! As well as some sweet water hand wash (again in both versions), a couple bottles of sweet water laundry detergent, more eucalyptus + mint gel hand wash (again, tons of it!) and let's not forget some almond flower, olive leaf, and white tea creamy hand wash!

Reader Josh found the above hand soap combo packs (which I've never even seen!) in sweet water and green tea + aloe. A mere $6. for 2 bottles and a 25 oz. refill! So definitely head on over to Big Lots, and find some finds!

+ And speaking of finds, Josh is a lucky, lucky man! Check out this photo!

He found this display at his local Wegman's (and I so wish we had this chain in the south east! MAN! Look at all those candles... sniff sniff. And aroma beads. Oh, I'm in pain! Pain, I tell ya! So much lusting, so little time.) He says: "Hand soaps, rings, candles, beads, and sticks were all there (and on sale too! $2.79 for soap I believe, $9.99 for rings, $4.99 for candles or something ...i forget really. the only thing missing was the all surface spray." Oh, Josh, and I think the dish soap is missing as well.

It makes my tiny little cardboard stand at my Harris Teeter look so puny in comparison. And speaking of said cardboard stand, my fears were true! No restock! I just went yesterday, and the stand was gone! Gone. And I found two little bottles, one cinnamon bark, and one peppermint vanilla, just shoved on an end cap, with cereal. LOL The poor cinnamon bark bottle is all banged up and dented. And no one loves it. Didn't they see Rudolph? Don't they know about misfit toys? Won't someone take in this little sad bottle? So anyway, it looks like you definitely need to be picking up these last year finds while you can, cause when they're gone, they're gone! ...Unless you have a Wegman's, it looks like. Then you can swim in method holiday products. Sigh!

+ Josh (he's popular in this post!) also asked if anyone has seen any method dryer sheets. As he's been looking everywhere, but no luck. Unforunately, as far as I know Josh, the only place to find them right now is on method's site. Target pulled the wet dry sheets ages ago, and they've since been discontinued (I swear, if Big Lots shows up some lavender + juniper wet dry sheets, I'm buying out the LOT! I'm so not joking! Oh, I lust those things...) method is replacing the line with the new wet dry sheets in sweet water, rice milk + mallow, and go naked. BUT, I haven't seen those anywhere yet. And the original dryer sheets were gone long, long ago (in a galaxy far away!)

hsn yay!

It's an HSN kinda day! Check out this great pic from HSN, giving us a slightly better look at the new squeaky green laundry detergent, and the dryer cloths! (I'm not sure if that dryer cloth packaging is actually that big, as it looks smaller in the video. I think they just did it for the image visual.)

And I also just noticed something great on HSN! For only $12.99, you can order their ginger yuzu hand wash bundle! Ginger yuzu has been discontinued, so now's a great time to pick it up before it's completely gone! The bundle comes with:

+ 2 gel hand wash bottles
+ 1 foaming hand wash bottles
+ 1 34 oz. refill pouch

kibbles and bits

Looks like Target has rearranged the entire method hand wash display; and I'm going to definitely say it looks like ginger yuzu has been discontinued. All labels related to that scent are gone; as are the hand wash, foaming hand wash, and refill pouches for that scent. Unfortunate! I was just getting to really like it, especially for the summer! Here's to hoping a new scent will be arriving soon. (I'm not sure, but usually when they discontinue a hand wash scent, a new one takes it's place. BUT, you know, I just started thinking, the rearranged display left no room for a new scent, so perhaps sea minerals, green tea + aloe, and sweet water are it for the time being (excluding the regulars, pink grapefruit, french lavender, go naked and cucumber.)

what's it all mean? (uh, I don't know)

My latest odds n' ends news on a recent trip to Target. Usually I'll try to make sense out of everything (such as hand soap refill pouches on clearance, perhaps because of the new design; but then not all of the pouches are on clearance, so perhaps some scents are being discontinued. But then the pouches of certain scents are priced down, but the regular hand wash bottles in the same scents aren't, so see, it all doesn't make much sense.) So for the time being, I'm going with these as being Target clearances, and not necessarily method discontinued products/scents, unless otherwise noted.

Whew, with that out of the way! (And I'm telling you what, I'm going to start bringing a camera to Target! method hasn't updated their online store site in a while (but I believe a big push isn't too far away, as they stated the new bathroom line would be up there at the beginning of April. (How many parentheses within parentheses can we do here? (As many as we want Nathan, as many as we want.) But I keep seeing things I want photos of on here, and never have a camera.) Anyway, on to the latest from Target.

The Green Tea + Aloe, and Ginger Yuzu (no, not Ginger Yuzu! You know I wasn't really into it that much, but it has really grown on me; and this is one scent I do think is being discontinued here) hand soap refill pouches are on clearance.

The Ginger Yuzu foaming hand wash is on clearance. And the regular hand wash has not been restocked in quite some time, so... sniff sniff!

The bloq line has hit it's second price reduction (Oh, something else to keep in mind. I learned this a while ago, and it's surprising to me. Each Target store is responsible for their own clearance prices. So that's why, take my stores for example, one store is already on it's second price reduction on the bloq line, while another store has yet to even clearance them out! Odd, isn't it! But that's how they roll with the punches over at Target, I guess.) BUT the shaving cream has still not been clearanced! I'm thinking (hoping, praying!) that they might stick it out, at least until the marine naturals line appears in August. Either way, I hope shaving cream stays on method's product line-up!

And the entire wood for good line looks like it might be getting a face lift! The wood for good almond spray has a brand new sticker label. It now has a new wood grain design, and says "NON TOXIC + CLEAN" like the new bathroom items. These might be call-outs method is beginning to use, to make consumers more aware.

There ya' be!
