seasonal savings!

UPDATE Just heard back from the wonderful Sarah at method, and she's got an update on the holiday backorder issue a lot of people are experiencing. It appears there may be two answers.

"1) We are restocking items later this week- orders will be shipped out Monday; and 2) We are pulling items off of the site as we sell out - unfortunately it takes about a day before it appears off of the site. Currently we are ALL out of 3 items, and will be reaching out to those who ordered them and got a backordered notice: spiced pear surface spray, peppermint vanilla surface spray, and hollyberry dish soap."

As I guessed, the hot items (spiced pear and hollyberry dish soap; well, maybe only hot because those were the ones I had my sights on, and I knew they'd sell out quickly; as this was only back stock they were trying to sell) are history.

Here's hoping next year method catches a holiday clue, and brings back everyone's favorite holiday products! I know everyone was excited to see some of them appear on the website, but for many of us it seems it might have been "too good to be true" as they were snatched up quickly, and had a low count to begin with on the remaining products available.

I'll have a post shortly on the whole holiday products line (or lack of), so look for that soon! I hope this at least answers some people's questions concerning their orders.

Wow! Drop what you're doing (well, unless it has anything to do with scalding hot water, small babies, or Ginsu knives!) and run on over to your computer (unless it's right next to you, or up a flight of stairs, or at the repair shop!) and check out method's grand holiday product sale!

They're clearing out the leftovers, and we get the deals! I'm talking hollyberry dish soap for $1.60; cinnamon bark spray cleaner for $1.60; and big bundles of holiday products in your favorite scents for a mere $16.00, and up (depending on HOW many products you want!) All scents are cinnamon bark, peppermint vanilla and hollyberry (except for some yummy leftover spiced pear spray cleaner, also for $1.60!)

So what are you waitin' for? Snow? Better days? Thanksgiving to be over? Bah! Forget all that, and stock up! Head on over for some great finds (unless you have band practice, a car pool, or you're still at work. If so, you might want to wait until after, ok?) Ah heck, shop at work! No one will know, I've checked, and your boss just went to lunch. You've got a one hour window. Don't waste it!

OKAY. SO.

I was sitting at the dinner table eating a chicken caesar salad from costco and decided to check methodlust on my iphone. As soon as it loaded and I saw "sale...all surface spray...$1.60" I grabbed my food, drink, phone, and debit card and ran upstairs to my room.

Just ordered a ton of stuff that's missing from this year's holiday supply. I usually don't buy off the method website because the shipping is ridiculous, but with the crazy low prices, I was willing to pay it.

I've now been put in a great mood for the evening, now.

dammit Nathan I'm in the middle of holding a small baby AND a ginsu knife over some scalding hot water...

Thanks for the word, Nathan. Josh isn't kidding -- the cost of tax and shipping was more than my actual order. Twelve bucks postage to mail three aroma pill packs?? They're insane.

The shipping IS insane! BUT I discovered, the more you order, the better you make out. I was going to order 3 items, it brought each item (with shipping) to $6. a piece!? More than it originally cost at Target! But then I was playing around, and tried 6-8 items, the shipping didn't move, and the cost came down to around $3. an item! So go for more! And if anyone wants to buy me some hollyberry dish soap, I'll lust them forever! I'm broke! (Ends shameless beg plug!)

So try for more items, to get the shipping "down."

I don't know... I'm loving the Mrs. Meyer's Iowa Pine scent. I am using their dish soap, spray cleaner and candles this holiday season. The house smells like a fresh cut Christmas tree... so much it fooled some of my guests.

I do still have Method handwash in the bathroom and candles in the bedrooms... I just can't bring myself to pay the high shipping from MethodHome.com when I can find the candles at Big Lots for the same price and get Mrs. Meyer's cleaners cheaper.

(Rant over.)

YAY! I just ordered 4 Spiced Pear MS Cleaners and 4 Hollyberry Dishsoap! $26 shipped! :)

Well....not happy now. Everything I ordered is on backorder. To make it worse, they pre-auth your card which means there's a hold on the funds. I might just call them Monday and cancel the whole damn order. UGH!

Hmm, Jason. That's SO odd that it's on backorder, because I swear this is all old stock they're just trying to get rid of. How weird?!? Let us know how it goes!

Thank you, darlin' Nathan, for this fabulous pointer. I just scarfed up two armloads of my dear old favorites. For pennies --!

Oh ...same deal as Jason! "The items are on back order."

So odd, so un-Method.

Cancelling as we speak -

Well Nathan, I canceled the order. Has anybody ordered anything from that sale that isn't currently being sold at Target (like the Spiced Pear MP Spray or the Hollyberry Dish Soap) and NOT received a backorder notice?

Hey everyone, I'm checking with method now to get some insight into the back order issue. As soon as I get an answer (should be very soon), I'll post it!

I ordered the same day I saw Method's tweet about it! My 24 items came in 3 boxes! Holiday gifts!

Jason said...

24 items? No wonder things are on back-order!

I gotta say, I HATE Method's website when it comes to shopping online. I don't know if it's that I am on a Mac or what, but it never seems to load right and it becomes non-responsive. I gave up the other day when I was trying to place an order.
