holiday sneak peek!

Yeah, yeah, you read right lusters! We're being treated to a method holiday sneak peek! (I mean, can you believe the holidays are almost upon us? Geesh! I still haven't finished eating all of last year's Christmas candy! Oh right, I should probably just uh, throw that away now, shouldn't I? Ok. Goodbye candy canes. So long peppermint bark. Oh, look, now I can buy new holiday candy! Yay!)

So, without delay, some good news, and some (bad?) news!

+ The good! method holiday 2009 will see three big returns! This year's scents will be hollyberry, peppermint vanilla, and cinnamon bark! Can you believe peppermint vanilla is making a return? I know there are a lot of peppermint vanilla fans who have been waiting for this! And all three scents come back to us from their previous 2007 visit!

These scents will be available in soy candles, and our ever faithful gel hand wash! (Are you not just lusting after those colored soy candle bowls! I can't wait to pick some up! Drool!) Look for them to hit stores in late October/early November. The hand wash will actually be available to any retail stores that carry method products; while the candles are a Target exclusive!

+ And (the bad?) No new scents this year! And the product line has been slashed! We're talking no dish soap, no aroma sticks, aroma rings, pills, sprays, spray cleaners, or limited edition products! Nada! I'm really surprised at this, as I always thought these products (at least dish soap, and spray cleaners) were always big sellers during the holidays! I know method said they wanted to return to some of their product roots; and their original line usually only consisted of hand wash, maybe lotion, and candles. But over the last few years we've been treated to quite a grand expansion of the holiday products, and I couldn't wait to fill my house with all the wonderful goodies!

What do you think of this? Excited! Drooling with anticipation! Disappointed that there are no new scents this year? Gonna miss your favorite holiday products? Comment away! And let the holiday countdown... begin! (Wait, it's not even Halloween yet? What'evah!)

Kinda sad there will be no cleaning products in the holiday line up...

I am glad that these scents are coming back, I like them all. Just disappointed that none of the other products are available. They smell so good in my home during the holidays. I still have a few items left over in these scents so I will have to use them sparingly during the holiday season.

It makes me sick when holiday stuff comes out in October...at least wait til late November and Thanksgiving is over...lets not rush the holidays PLEASE!!! I seriously hate it! Ok, that's the end of that rant.

I'm not really a fan of the method holiday scents...boo...still waiting on that clementine clove (that would be so lovely!)! We'll see how I like the peppermint vanilla...so far the aroma sticks have been pretty nice (thanks to you Nate!). :)

I'm excited about the peppermint vanilla coming back since I didn't get a chance to try it the last go around. I'm really disappointed that I won't be able to get the dish soap or the spray cleaner, though! Boo!

CINAMMON BARK?? *squeeee!* Okay, not that I don't have about eight bottles stashed up from my desperate quest last year, but STILL. Yummmm. Thank you!! Now I know to look for it!

Oh Peppermint Vanilla - how I have missed you!
well I do keep a stash but I can replenish and not have to ration quite so much
Thanks Nathan - you so made my day

I'm so excited about the return of cinnamon bark... b-b-but no cleaning products?! That's so sad! I'd generally stock up on sale spray cleaner & dish soap so my stash would last 'til the next holiday season. Is it nuts to hoard a spray cleaner? (If you think so, I won't tell you about the bottle with 1" of Method Bamboo Spray Cleaner I've kept for an embarrassing number of years... it smells just like Pier One used to smell when I was a kid.) Okay, now that I've humiliated myself completely I'll just repeat: I will very miss the Method holiday cleaners, and I hope they'll be back next year!

jeanlass, YOU have method BAMBOO spray cleaner!? I bow down to you, jeanlass! Bow! Wow, one of the (now only two) method scents I've NEVER seen, touched, or smelled! Congrats! (and don't be embarrassed! I've had a bottle of lemongrass hand wash in my closet for years! YEARS! I refuse to use it, cause then it's all gone! But if I don't use it, how will I enjoy it! But I can't use it... I understand, jeanlass, how I understand!)

I'm just glad I found a place where I'm understood! ;-)

4 Thoughts:

1.) I'm excited that Peppermint Vanilla will be returning. It's by far my favorite scent. I'm thrilled that Method chose to do some candles for the holiday season considering their mass exodus from candles. Trust that I'll be stockpiling candles for 2010.

2.) I'm disappointed that there are no new scents and no cleaning products. I can't say I blame Method considering how much of the Holiday line ends up on the clearance endcaps at Target and then at Big Lots. Maybe it's a smart move on their part to simplify.

3.) Can't I just use hand wash as dish soap? Is there a huge difference between how the two are formulated?

4.) If anyone wants Peppermint Vanilla Aroma Pills or Fig Aroma Pills let me know. I can get them from Big Lots and am willing to mail them for a small fee to cover postage.

UGH! Fig aroma pills. You're killing me, Jamison, killing me! LOL (WHY can't they be at MY Big Lots!? LOL)

Have you really ever found holiday method at Big Lots? Minus the box set I found YEARS ago, I was actually thinking how rare it is to find holiday method at Big Lots. I want to find some frosted fir hand wash! I really lusted that scent, and hope it comes back one day, but I'm not sure how well it did...

And I get what you're saying about the holiday line ending up on endcaps at Target. BUT, and I barely understand these things, but my little bit of understanding seems to be that Target just buys this stuff up. So method gets their money, and Target takes the hit? Plus with holiday lines of any kind, the retail stores are so quick to get them in and out now, tons of stuff ends up on endcaps/clearance. Have you seen how much Christmas stuff/decorations are left AFTER Christmas, at a Target store. I think they make WAY too much of it, myself. But I just don't know if method's reason was it didn't sell that well.

My seven cents worth.

the biglots here has a ton of pills and candles in hollyberry, pepmint, and cinnamon from two years ago. also some of those in rings.

now if only last years made it to biglots. I need more pear candles!

Jamison...I am definitely interested in buying some fig aroma pills from you! How much are they at Big Lots?

Years ago I stocked up on pumpkin spice hand wash at big lots before realizing what a rarity it was in the grand scheme of method things. I was using it as dish soap just because I had so much of it. *kicks self*

Karin-

They are $4.50.

E-mail me and I can hit up Big Lots for you and ship them your way.

Kirby!

Do you have any more pumpkin spice hand wash?! WHAT would it take to get a bottle? LOL I've never smelled that scent!

I will mourn the loss of the spiced pair spray and dish soap. I loved those last year, I stocked up on those and have now run out. Should have kept one in the good ol'method vault.

But major yeah for the peppermint van. return!!

Nathan Aaron said...

I really doubt spiced pear is history! I think it's another one of their big hits! So I'd look for it's return, only perhaps not in all our favorite method holiday products! I bet if we started emailing method begging for some of our old holiday favorites (spray cleaner and dish soap at least; aroma spray anyone?) they'd listen if they got enough feedback! Let's give it a try, and get some of our product favorites back for holiday 2010!

I'm so totally bummed that they're not going to bring back the spray counter cleaner in the holiday scents and colors! Wow. Totally bent out of shape about that. I have been stocking up each year with a whole years' worth because I love them enough to use them year 'round. I was just running out of my last bottle of cleaner and thinking I could make it a couple more weeks. What are they thinking? That red bottle was beautiful and so cheery. We need all the cheery we can get right now! Come on people! (Am I taking this a tad too seriously?)

I still need/want FROSTED FIR hand wash!!! There HAS to be some product available somewhere? Stockpiled in someone's closet - waiting for Ebay? I was so hoping it would be back this year.
