cool to see it out there! what do we think of the price?? It's been so long since a) I've bought conventional brands of detergent, and b) I've bought detergent at regular price (dear lord I love me some Big Lots!). So I honestly don't know.
WELL, I just bought some Arm & Hammer Essentials dye and perfume free green (as far as I know!) detergent (all natural, made from plant based surfactants, etc.)that does something like 40 loads, and it was $4.99. So comparably, 50 loads for $15. seems a tad steep. But hopefully over time the price will go down (as this is all new technology/patented, etc. it's gonna cost a little more right now.)
I've always thought their detergent was a bit steep though. But that's just cause I'm po' all the time. LOL But I'm still dying to try it out!
ha ha, I love that A&H stuff too, and got it at the beloved Big Lots last time! : ) I do really really like this pump that Method has now, because one of my biggest hurdles using concentrated detergent and an HE washer is that the tiny amount you are supposed to use measuring with the cap just NEVER looks like it's going to work! So knowing how many pumps to use seems dreamy...
i thought for sure that video on the methodlaundry site of the girl squirting the detergent into the little drawer must have been practiced a thousand times to aim it perfectly and not make a mess...
but seriously, there is ABSOLUTELY no mess to this bottle. it felt really natural (and fun, of course) to pick it up and just squirt. no drips, etc.
while i'll miss the sweet water scent, fresh air is quite nice. it has your typical "clean laundry" smell.
okay soo I love method detergent and use it all the time but it's really expensive! here in NYC it's not $15 but $21 at the drugsto for the 50 loads and $11 for the 20 load.... so anyhow i wasnt planning on getting it but then Duane Reade had the 20 load for sale for $7.99 which i guess is about normal price everywhere else so since i got my 2$ coupon email from them i decided to splurge once just to get the awesome pump container and i'll just keep refilling this with other detergents if method can't drop the price... use the coupon! give it a try cause the pump is great! ps is this going to be at target?
Eh, probably wishful thinking. I'm betting Target's pricing will be the same as Lowe's. This current pricing fits with method's previous laundry detergent pricing, so I doubt we'll see a big difference. (But here's to hoping!)
hey all i just wanted to say we don’t recommend using alternate detergents in our pump because of both the viscosity and the concentration.
the viscosity of other detergents (or our old detergent) could clog the pump.
also since this detergent is 8x concentrated the 4 pump method won't translate, so you might end up either using too little and not getting your clothes clean or using too much and leaving a residue on your clothes.
i understand the concern over the price. thanks for your input!
I was at a local Whole Foods today and the price for the 50 load was $19.99...eeek!! I'm def. going to wait for it to hit Target, hopefully it will be a little cheeper.

I suspect refills are likely.

@Wenless: Yup. The new Laundry Detergent will be in Target around February. Hopefully their pricing will be a bit more competitive too.

Whole Foods method (and probably everything) pricing is crazy. Crazy!
Too steep for me! I'll stick to my Purex Natual Elements Citrus Aloe. It's only $5!
