sneak peek - refills + more!

new magnolia, olive leaf and white tea pure naked body washes

We're not done yet, youngsters! Oh no, not by a long shot! So pay attention, ok? Cause you don't want to be left out of all the method "in the know", do you? Of course not! Even more body wash 411 is coming your way! Looks like fans of method's current body wash line (the marine naturals body wash in refresh mint, waterflower, and sea minerals) might want to start thinking about stocking up very soon, cause I'm placing a big fat bet they are all about to go bye-bye, ciao, so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, adieu, adieu, adieu, to you and you and you, and... oh wait, where was I? Darn those musical numbers that play randomly in my head! Yes, marine naturals is out, pure naked (in olive leaf, white tea, and magnolia) is in! method had a magnolia candle way back when (I'm talkin' way, way back!) so I'm curious to see if the scent is similar. Look for these to be hitting store shelves very soon! Within the next few weeks, I'd say!

new glass + surface, new lavender all-purpose and daily shower 68 oz. refills

Along with the new body wash line, you can also expect a new 68 oz. refills bottle line (that's almost two and a half bottles of method bliss!) Soon to be appearing are both glass + surface and all-purpose spray cleaner refill bottles! (Lavender is shown in the all-purpose above, though I'm sure more scents will be coming along for the ride.) And, the refill bottles get a slight makeover, as well!

+ Along with all these new sneak peeks, I've seen even more clearanced method product on Target's shelves this weekend! As mentioned above, the marine naturals body wash line is outta here, the sweet water and sea minerals hand sanitizer bottles are on clearance, and I also noticed the limited edition pink grapefruit dish soap saying their goodbyes.

In addition to those, oddly enough along with the clearanced lemon mint dish soap, are some lemon mint dish soap bottles still on store shelves at full price without the limited edition tag, so this scent might be switching over to one of method's new regulars.

And lastly, the lil' bowl blu (toilet bowl cleaner) was also on clearance. My prediction for this is, method has admitted they are revamping the bathroom line, so I'd expect to see a new lil' bowl blu product/packaging in the near future, possibly with additional bathroom items, or an also reworked le scrub, etc. Time will tell!

Whew!

ho ho heck yes!

There's lots of ways to keep up with method (twitter, Facebook, method lust, people against dirty blog, magazine articles, whew!) So even though I'm perfect (shh, keep your thoughts to yourself) there are times even I, yes I, miss something! It's difficult to believe (again, thoughts. yourself.) but it's true! So I wanted to say thank you to the anonymous method luster that let me know via comments, method has officially announced frosted fir is making a comeback this holiday 2011 season! Yes!

They had also previously teased that peppermint (in some form) would be part of the holiday scents! So I'd say be on the lookout for frosted fir and peppermint vanilla this year (unless method gets all sorts of crazy and gives us a new peppermint/mint scent! Guess we'll find out soon enough!) The other great thing is, method's holiday line seemed to hit really late last year. They appear to be correcting that this year, because October is the drop date for the holiday products to hit store shelves! So far I'd still say to expect only hand wash, but who knows, they might also surprise us with an expanded product line (and probably one more scent, as their holiday scents usually come in threes) as well! More news to come as I get the dirt!

holiday tease

I don't know about you, but I'm just about over these mid-ninety degree days! Summer has barely begun, and my air conditioner has already let me know it can't keep up! So you know what, my thoughts are floating off to snow! And holidays! And Santa Claus! Cause it's never too early to start thinking about Christmas and the holidays, right? Of course not! And even method has gotten in on the fun, posting this interesting little tease over on their Facebook discussion page:

"dear lovers of mint,
stay tuned for holiday 2011.

love, method
"

Ohh, do they have me excited! I'm already dreaming of the possibilities! (Though I pray to my minty Gods above that it's not simply method bringing back peppermint vanilla again. I lust you method, but please give us some exciting new holiday scents this year!)

So cross your fingers, tap your snow boots together, and dream mint filled holiday dreams (even if it is only June!) Well, unless you don't like mint (which I've discovered there are actually a few of you out there, and honestly, you're not right. There is something seriously wrong with you. No, really. Like, seek medical and mental attention immediately, ok. I'm just sayin'... not right.)

method lusts ants

method luster Tisa sent me this cute email:

"I too love everything method. I'm a method junkie, a meth (od) head of sorts. Just wanted to drop you this line. If there was ever a doubt about Method REALLY being non-toxic, doubt no longer.

Yesterday, I saw some ants in my kitchen, so I grabbed the first thing I saw. Since I'm completely methodized, It was the mint window cleaner. I aimed and sprayed those suckers down. It didn't phase them a bit. They were a little wet and minty, but they kept on moving. The fact that they didn't die completely overshadowed the fact that, well, they didn't die. So if anyone asks "how do you know Method is REALLY non-toxic" forward them my email. Keep up your blog. I LOVE READING IT!"

Minty ants, I lust it! Thanks Tisa!

seeing clearly

A couple great video reviews for method's mint "blue sky" "best in glass" window + glass cleaner. I love the stuff! Duh, it's MINT! And so does this woman! There are a few other great video reviews on this site for method products, as well. From all surface spray to dish soap! Enjoy!

shout-outs

Look at all these great reviews on method's all purpose (now called all surface) spray cleaner!

"I have been using Method's French Lavender All-purpose surface cleaner for the better part of a year and it is great. It smells terrific, and combined with a microfiber cloth it shines up all sorts of surfaces. I even use it for quick touch-ups of my stainless steel appliances and my sealed stovetop. I spray it on the floor to mop and don't have to worry about keeping the dog away from toxic chemicals. Same goes for people and the countertops and tabletops. Unlike a lot of other eco-friendly products, this is available at several "mainstream" retailers, making it more convenient to purchase, and the price is much more reasonable.
- Kate S."

"I recently purchased the Pink Grapefruit all-purpose cleaner in attempt to be more environmentally conscious. I was replacing my Windex brand product and was a bit wary of how it would compare. I was overwhelmed with the effectiveness!! It smelled great and cut grease and didn't streak up my mirrors. I LOVE it!! I will definitely purchase it again. Not only was it effective but it was friendly on the wallet too.
- Anna A."

"I have a very sensitive nose and most commercial cleaners leave me feeling like someone ran a sharp rake in my nostrils, but not Method. The scents are very pleasing and not overwhelming. I feel more secure using these products on surfaces that my young children touch... I find it more then adequate for everyday cleaning purposes.
- Erin M."

"I am very happy with my Method all purpose cleaner. It smells like flowers, cleans sticky dirt, and makes me feel virtuous.
- Kenna B."

method quickies

Quick questions answered by official method reps!

Q: I'd love special handy wipes for all the electronic screens in my life. I don't know if anyone makes something like this, but I have so many screens (laptop, phone, ipod, monitor, tv) and they all get dusty or fingerprinted. I'm never sure what the best way to clean them is, so I'd love a cleaner-fluid-moistened wipe that was designed for these all important viewing areas. And I'd love for it to be made by Method!

A: Try method microfiber window + glass cleaning cloths! They're not moistened, but the millions of tiny fibers are perfect for grabbing up dust, smudges and dirt. Best thing is, they'll keep your delicate electronics perfectly dry and are washable.

mint is my man

Welcome to method lust! I'm so excited to have begun this blog. It's been on my mind for some time, and I've finally decided to get to it. My reason for starting this blog is simple, I'm a method addict! I love the stuff, and I can't get enough. From the amazing scents, to the gorgeous packaging, and the great for the environment products and mentality, I just LOVE it!

In fact, you see pictured above the very first item I purchased from method. I went walking into my local Target store (which most of the products in these posts will come from; also to note: all sales, discontinues, etc. will usually be based on my North Carolina Target store. Target stores in other states may differ. And let me know, if they do!) and saw this end cap of new cleaning supplies, called method. Not only was the packaging so unique, but what caught my attention immediately was mint dish soap. MINT dish soap. Now, I'm a mint fanatic! Crazy about the stuff. If it's covered in mint, smells like mint, tastes like mint, well... I gotta have it! As far as I knew, this was the first dish soap to feature the aroma of mint, and I immediately went crazy and bought it up! Plus the gorgeous Karim Rashid packaging didn't hurt things one bit. And that was the beginning of my, should I say, lust affair, with method.

Sadly, mint dish soap has long been discontinued (you'll soon see a theme here with my favorite scents constantly being discontinued, but alas, life must go on); but if you were brave enough to take a peak into my linen closet, you'd find about five bottles of the Karim Rashid teardrop mint dish soap, as well as one "Bowling Pin" bottle, that I've stocked up on. Like I said, I'm crazy about it!

So check out this blog, if you have stories to share about method and yourself, send them my way. Also let me know of any really early products you may have used or have, or have a photo of (such rarities as pumpkin spice hand wash, or bamboo cleaner spray, or mistletoe!), or have a question, favorite scent... hey, I want to hear them all! Thanks!
